It is a budget webcam and will do the job. Get some good lighting and install the software for it.
Why can't they put sliding covers on these webcams. My home office room is under renovation and an utter hoarder's den right now. But depending on the app (Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, etc), it's likely the background is not active when signing on. Last thing I need is for important people to see the junk behind me and the gimp setup.

I believe the 1080p camera that OP posted does have a sliding cover. You can see it in the Amazon review photos.
I use a piece of tape on my 720p version of this cam, but if I needed a new cam I'd go with this.

I have this camera... I bought it to use for monitoring my 3D printer.
For those with access to a 3D printer, you can print an alternate front cover with a focus dial. If you remove the front cover, you'll see that it has a physically adjustable manual focus lens behind the cover. With 3D printed parts, you can modify it with a manual focus knob.

I was unable to use it to show my ID during an online exam. the webcam' video was way too blurry & impossible to read.

At least not in any price range I can afford....

This camera replaced my old C920 which was great, but it broke. I think the 300 is a smidge better than the C920 and it's cheaper. Just an FYI.
