I've been waiting on the price to drop back down to $399. Seems like a decent deal if you don't want to wait until Black Friday for a potentially better deal.
p.s. price is the same at Target for local pickup.

This is a good phone; I have one for sale and honestly thinking about keeping this and returning the S24 ultra.
Phone is small, compact and works well. Nothing wrong with it.
I bought two pixel 7 pro, and both have terrible call quality. Is pixel 8a better, or the same? Specifically, when I receive a call with noisy background, the other side cannot hear me.

It would likely be no improvement.

thanks, looks like I'll pass Google phones until they fix it
The antennas on the 6 series were a disaster. The 7 and 8 got new antennas that were equally as bad. Now again Google has new antennas for the 9 series. I guess we'll see.

Because the Pixel 8 has been cheaper and is a better phone. The 8a has zero reason to exist.
Price point. Today the P8 is $699 the 8a $499 as MSRP, not sure I saw P8 at $399 but regardless the 8a is quite similar so if you can get it for a few hondo less than a P8 it may be a good value deal. If you can get the P8 for the same price, then I agree. Ironically I like the 8a because it has a plastic back (not glass) and that is one less expensive thing to break since I put cases on all my phones anyways. I think of these as better Samsung FE but you do at least get the latest P8 series chip in it (Samsung FE usually goes a gen back).
If you think about it you get a fully modern phone/chipset, 7 years of support for $400, when TOL flagships are well over $1000. Are you getting 2.5 the performance, probably not? I think this is a super value play.

Using pixel 7 pro from almost 2 years when it got released , never had any issues with call, you may want to enable clear call and see if that makes any better.

I switched 'clear calling' on and off, neither helped. I bought both from Woot, not sure whether that is the reason.

*edit* it says "Stay active on Fi for 120 days to retain this instant rebate"
Anyone know any tricks to get an even better deal?
