Display size, resolution, refresh rate, etc are all def fine for productivity work but 1000r is a pretty steep curve which has a couple drawbacks:
- Makes it harder to view the display from an angle (not ideal for showing the screen to somebody else or if you're not consistently positioned in the "sweet spot" viewing area)
- Curve can cause some visual distortion effects which isn't ideal if you're doing any kind of visual work like video editing, art, etc.

To add, a light curve isn't bad. Especially if you're not doing visual design stuff. I have both flat and curved ultrawide displays. The edges of the screen can really feel farther compared to the middle. That's why most traditional dual display setups have both monitors angled slightly. The curve on ultrawides reduces this effect.

It took me a few hours or days to get used to it, but I do prefer my curved (1800R) display to my flat one overall. I can see how a display with a steeper curve (1000R) would be both more immersive for multimedia and more distorting for productivity work.

I am using the monitor now. Not a gamer any more, so I cannot comment on the gaming performance. But it's a decent one for everyday work. If you buy from Walmart, don't forget 5% discover cashback or AMEX $10 back offer.

On Acer website, EDA343CUR ($280) has a bigger screen and higher resolution than XZ322QU ($340) but is cheaper, why?

https://www.acer.com/us-en/monito....JX2AA.S01
https://www.acer.com/us-en/monito....CE3AA.H02

Is EDA343CUR inferior to XZ322QU in some ways?

I recently bought the XZ322QU from Costco for $230+tax, and I am considering returning and getting the EDA343CUR from Amazon for $190. Just want to know if there's a catch with EDA343CUR

I would totally use one of these if $200 is your max monitor budget. As a mostly work-from-home person, ehh. 4K is the way

How are Acer monitors for office, spreadsheet, coding, database work? Are the letters crisp and clean? I have a 21", 15 years old now, never really liked it too much. Are they better now? Thanks in advance.

I dunno as a casual gamer, that used to raid alot, i've been perfectly fine with my 34" flat 1080p monitor that people wear are blurry or too pixelated and its not at all for me. I would only be upgrading to get the curvature for a little more imersion.

Yeah IPS is still the gold standard for office work.
For office work..? No, IPS certainly doesn't matter for Word, Excel, Outlook and perhaps the occasional Visio or PowerPoint. VA is fine and what every single cheap monitor companies get with their cheapo Dells and HPs… especially if you're even considering a 1000R curve, then you don't care about side view angle to share work with others.

I work for home ~60% of the time now, bought 2 flat 34'' IPS monitors and stacked them… only reason I go IPS at home is for gaming and the little bit of graphic work I do, colors are way nicer and you can get 144Hz IPS these days for <300$ on sale.
But when I'm in the office… my 32'' surround by 27'' VA monitors are perfect fine for productivity work.
