I have 15 in my basement for the gym. Smell was gone within a week. If your putting on concrete I would suggest putting some type of underlayment.

This is a great price. It's been a couple years since they were this cheap at tractor supply. A few weeks ago they were $43 or so.

They definitely have a strong smell initially, but a couple of days in the sun, baking soda, vinegar/water mixture and flipping them over will get rid of it.

We have 4 currently in our basement with no smell. The 8 we just purchased are outside in the sun with baking soda for now.

Initially, yes. I have about 25 of them in my basement gym. When I first got them I laid them all out across the back lawn and left them there for a week. After I brought them in, it was several more weeks before the odor was mildly noticeable and probably a couple months before I didn't smell them at all. I have a very sensitive sense of smell, so others might not notice the smell after a week or two.

Not sure what my exact mileage limit is to save ≈$20 per mat, but I'm fairly certain 1000 miles is above that limit.

With that said, if I lived within 30 miles of one of these stores, I'd be there today - even though these don't match the other (all black) mats in my gym. I actually need a few more.

I bought the tractor supply version recently and had good results using my ozone generator a couple times to reduce the smell quickly. You need to have an enclosed space with no people/pets where you can spread them out and fill with ozone - like a garage.

Worst part about these mats is finding ones that match your existing mats and happen to be on sale. So buy enough for your whole space all at once if you can.
