The 680M iGPU in this AMD CPU is the equivalent to the Playstation 4s GPU or a GTX 1060, enough to play triple AAA titles at 1080P low-medium settings

680m will handle a surprising amount of games well. Much better than Intel hd graphics. Its about halfway there to entry level Nvidia chips (e.g. 4050) in terms of performance

Nowhere near 1060, even the most recent 890M (Max TDP) from Ryzen AI 370HX is still 5-10% behind 1060. The 680M is most likely a 1050

No not really. It's just enough to play a lot of games in traditional 1080p but not enough to play a lot of pcvr games

Raise your hand if you use this as your gaming PC. πŸ˜† you'd need an external GPU to play anything graphic intensive and there goes the compactness.

At this price I'd think more people would benefit from just getting a ROG Ally and a dock. More options, newer CPU/GPU.

I like the idea and form factor, especially since it is 'all in' basically (OS, good amount of ddr5, enough space, etc)

I would love to build another ITX but I can't justify the cost and gaming is almost non-existent for me these days. My gtx1080 is just gathering dust

Not everyone can afford a top tier gaming PC. Or this may be what someone is willing to spend on gaming. My 10yo wants a gaming PC. I am not interested in spending $1k+. I personally use a $300 steam deck now for my "PC gaming" and it is fine for me. I will consider items like the one advertised for my daughter. It has good reviews. I am also considering an Ally X or Legion Go. Gaming is changing for the better. Different form factors and price points are a good for everyone.

Is the 680M in this any different than the 780M in my laptop 7840 cpu with 32gb of 7400 DDR-5? Asking because it doesn't play modern triple-A titles all that great.

Honestly, if you're willing to build, you can make a nice and cheap AMD build with a decent iGPU for now and later on throw in a discreet GPU when he's ready to play more intense games. You'd spend less, especially if you source a few used parts, and end up with something that has a lot more flexibility.

I hear ya man… in my mind I still "love" gaming, but it is on a burner so far back it isn't done. Had to grow up!

Assume this has malware on it out of the box. This company has a reputation for this that will stick with them forever, even if they have addressed the issue
