Folks, with new AMD and new Intel mobile gen 2 chips releasing as we speak, the last Gen (only 6 months old actually) will be plummeting as the new chips are VASTLY improved! 95% of these posts lately are NOT deals. The competition is unlike ever before in the PC space. You will regret buying at these prices in a matter of a month or 2.

oh, this is the XPS that doesn't have physical function buttons(including esc key) and headphone jack..

edit: this XPS 14 does have a headphone jack, and XPS 13 is the one that doesn't even have a headphone jack

Good deal for this config. Just for fun, upgrade the 16GB RAM to 64GB. Make sure you're sitting down...

Off Brand??? Dell has been putting out top tier laptops for a long time, not sure I would consider them"off brand." Thankfully they don't have that hideous notch 🙌😁
They dont have physical function key row and trackpad area marker either... unfortunately

Yes,

I was really intrigued. Then I saw the keyboard, and my reaction was "what is this abomination?"

They almost had a very good design, but if I am typing on that thing, I want something better than a smartphone touch keyboard.
I have the XPS 13 with this keyboard and I really like it.

....there's no trackpad on it. Just look at the images, it's not there. What the hell, Dell?
There is a track pad, it is just seamless.

Imo this would be better if Dell didnt screw the XPS line up by killing off the design & usability. Keyboard quality has gone down and IO is now nerfed more than ever.

This one does have headphone jack, 13" model is the one that doesnt, but it does have the capacitive touch, which has been reviewed by everyone to be shit. Speakers on it are fine, the keyboard on it is dog awful and trackpad is hit or miss depending who you talk to

I don't know who these appeal to. It's like an off brand MacBook.
It's for people who don't want to overpay for MacBook and use it for software development or other related tasks. Great comment though. Really added a lot to the deal discussion

Nowadays its about the same price as Macbooks cause laptop manufactures are realizing that they make more money pushing premium product lines like the XPS line than like Inspiron, unfortunately Dell started to dilute the XPS line again w/ poor IO & design which is why sales for them dipped in recent generations.

About the same price for the models but the specs are different. And one runs MacOS and the other runs Windows. The other guy was asking about the use case for this and I was answering. Also corporate laptops tend to be Dell so this is the best option if your company isn't going to get you a MacBook

It forced me to choose a Lenovo alternative last year. The keyboard and those function keys were a non-starter. (It was the most non-Dell thing imaginable)

I know. I meant in the online order configuration, choose 64GB instead of 16GB.
