Per Tom's Hardware review. If you crack one of these open you'll see a 2242 NVMe inside. The USB-NVMe controller is JMicron. JMicron has been known in the SSD enclosure community to be not great. Building your own external SSD with a Realtek controller SSD enclosure would be advisable but for $70 this is a good deal nonetheless
There actually is a reason to have a better performing drive in Tesla vehicles. The one that comes with the car doesn't always support the best write speeds and can cause video artifacts. The higher speed drives will prevent as many artifacts in the video. The reduction in video artifacts could save you from some liability stuff.

Long term endurance is also usually better from tier 1 manufacturers like SK Hynix since they make the vast majority of the internal components for the drives vs a company like Seagate that buys everything separately.

I picked one up on the recent Newegg deal for use in my Tesla for Dashcam / Sentry mode. Seems to work fine so far.

Can anyone comment on transfer/upload performance with PS5?
Not from a PS5, but from all similar drives of this type it ranged depending on the benchmark between 1st and 3rd place in almost all of them when testing from a PC. It took 1st in reads and 2nd in writes out of like 15 other drives from the tom hardware review. Overall looks like a very solid buy, if you need this type of thing. Price is about a $15 discount since it retailed on newegg for $85.

If I didnt have the official 512Gb expansion for my Xbox already I would have probably picked this up.

This doesn't work with Xbox for Series S/X games...

The listing is calling you a liar... Not me.

"Compatible with PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11, and macOS"
Not sure about this one but I know all storage devices are "compatible" but only 2 that I know of can run the games from the device. The others are just storage and you have to transfer the games to the Xbox Series X when you want to play. Seagate and I believe WD are the only ones with licensed devices.

Listing says otherwise, literally the first two pictures are all about games.

Would this be a good ssd backup as it's small and not a regular size ssd? Or not a good idea because this is a flash drive and usually they go bad faster?
