Per Tom's Hardware review. If you crack one of these open you'll see a 2242 NVMe inside. The USB-NVMe controller is JMicron. JMicron has been known in the SSD enclosure community to be not great. Building your own external SSD with a Realtek controller SSD enclosure would be advisable but for $70 this is a good deal nonetheless
There actually is a reason to have a better performing drive in Tesla vehicles. The one that comes with the car doesn't always support the best write speeds and can cause video artifacts. The higher speed drives will prevent as many artifacts in the video. The reduction in video artifacts could save you from some liability stuff.
Long term endurance is also usually better from tier 1 manufacturers like SK Hynix since they make the vast majority of the internal components for the drives vs a company like Seagate that buys everything separately.

Seems like a good deal, will test out this weekend and see how it goes. If not as advertised, will return and leave a review on amazon.
Would be nice to play games via the device by a friend's house or to move a game to another xbox or ps in the house without installing if not enough room. Otherwise just have a backup copy of my fav games.

Listing says otherwise, literally the first two pictures are all about games.
The other poster has already explained to you the distinction about the compatibility here, but since you don't seem to accept it, here's confirmation from one of the reviews of this product on Amazon:
"I got excited for expanding my SSD memory on either my Xbox Series X or my PlayStation 5. Bummer is, that it won't play any of the new system games off the stick. I can transfer them to the USB but in order to play the games, I need to have them back on the internal hard drive. I can still use it to play PS4 and Xbox One games, just like any normal drive plugged in. But a little misleading since it states Xbox Series X and PS5."
will this work on an iphone to transfer files or do you need external power. My external NVMe doesnt work by itself - it needs external power whereas a USB flash drive does.
edit: I did some research. Iphone 15 and above can provide up to 4.5W using PD thru the USB C connector. According to anandtech, the hynix peak power consumption is 4.3W, with the lowest power tested 1TB OWC envoy pro mini at 1.8W, the silicon Power MS70 at 1.9W. The silicon power is also on sale for the same price, $70. Note that the Silicon Power PX10 is $65, has USB C port, about the same performance of the hynix and about the same power usage as well. I would give up a bit of the speed for lower power if used not on laptops and get the MS70. This price is not that special as it is the regular price for these 1TB NVMe thumb drives. For lightning port iphones, it can only put out about .3W so anything above that will need to be externally powered.

The price has a bit to do with it being SK Hynix brand. The brand that other brands use for their internal components.

I understand the distinction, but he did not say it with certainty that he had it and tried. With certainty I can tell you that the advertisement material says you can PLAY games, it does not specify which ones, so at that point its the fault of SK if it does not work as advertised and they didnt want to differentiate between the consoles in their documentation.
Then there are the two conflicting reviews, which one does state that he cant play off it, but then you have one that says it works on his Xbox S....

I don't know what the advertisement says but I do know that if it's a USB storage device then it'll only be able to store and play Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Original Xbox games. It can store Xbox Series S/X games, but you'll need to transfer them back to the internal storage to play them. The only types of storage that can directly play Xbox Series S/X games are the Storage Expansion Cards, unfortunately...
