I just bought the 39" OLED LG from the other LG thread and I will never ever go back to anything less than OLED. The color production is on whole another level with oled panels.....especially for gaming. I'm seeing colors/textures in CoD and Elden Ring that I never noticed with my older IPS 32" monitor.

I think it's based on personal preference and also how far they sit from the monitor. For me I switched from 27 inch 4k IPS to 4k mini led then downgraded ( in term of PPI) to 34 inch 1440p oled and I don't have any problem with it. It's less sharp at first but tbh not that much worse and eventually I just got used to it.
It may be less noticeable for you but think about a gigantic 45" +. All I read is people see the garbage pixels if you sit 2 feet away. It's ridiculous.

The 45 inch I assume that's the Corsair/LG OLED with 91 ppi. Like I said if you don't have problem with 27 inch qhd 2feet away then you won't have problem with this since they share the same ppi. What you are concerned with isn't the resolution, it's the pixel density (pixel per inch).

SAMSUNG 49" Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) Series Curved Smart Gaming Monitor, 240Hz has 108ppi. Lower than average.

There's no average standard for ppi. Like I said it's same as a standard 27 inch qhd which is 109 ppi. 32inch 4k is at 137.7ppi and 27 inch 4k is at 163ppi, 32inch qhd is 93 ppi that's the reference of standard 4:3 monitor ppi.

I've been soo scared of burn in so i never used OLED monitors before but i LOVE my OLED tv. Can you convince me it's not a big deal and i have nothing to worry about?

It's completely overblown on forums and YT.....for monitor, just have a hidden taskbar and a screensaver and dont run it in peak brightness and thats it. The oleds already have a "clean pixel" feature which cleans itself after X number of hours.

These things are engineered to run for thousands of hours being a monitor and its not like as soon as the 2 yr LG warranty runs out, the oled will shatter into a thousand pieces.

Not to say electronics dont fail but its the same as any IPS or non OLED monitor...which all fail eventually.

Buy it and enjoy it. I used my credit card which gives me 3yrs and I usually replace it after that anyways and by then, there'll be even better tech. My gaming is now on another level altogether. God of War-Ragnorak is coming out on PC tomorrow and has ultrawide support natively.

I'm just worried if I move to a 45" or 49" 1440p that it will never be the same as my 32" 4k. I don't see any pixels now and mainly use for productivity.
Take your 32 inch and run it at 1440 with the correct scaling and know it's going to a lot better than that in terms of ppi. I have a 32 inch g7 neo 4k, 27inch 4k omen, 27inch hp IPS 1440p, and a Dell 32 inch curved 1440. (Different homes, different offices). My favorite for office work is honestly the Dell 32 1440 that's a VA. For gaming I love the g7 and 4k with mini led. I'm not going to give it up either for when I want to play a game in 16x9 4k. I have a 4800 super and it's not going to be able to run games on high settings at 7680x2160 on the neo 57 inch. However it should run the dual 1440 at pretty high settings at a nice frame rate. My worry is burn for my productivity as well, but I'm rolling the dice.

The LG oled 39" monitor was $800 off the other LG thread Smilie. Deal is over now. It had the labor day stackable code.

Bought one, just need it for work productivity. I don't game and I don't need an OLED. Sucks that tax is on the full amount. Picking up at a local Bestbuy which is convenient.
I really like it. Works well for my office setup.

Zero dollars. You can find killer local deals on used IPS 4K 144Hz monitors online to hold you over until OLED becomes more affordable.

VA? for this much? LOL get yourself an oled don't waste your time or money on anything else
Quote from kylek5968 :
At this price point I didn't feel comfortable with a normal VA. The neo's mini led is fantastic and my preference for work and play. I might have felt better if they had more specs available with how many dimming zones ect. This just turns out to be a 2020 panel from what I found. So I paid the extra money for the OLED.
Quote from ThriceQ :
Buying a VA at 700 is wild

I know OLED is generally superior for most people, but they're not nearly this price. So, what gives with all the threadcrapping on this monitor? Where can we find significantly cheaper VA 49" 1440p quality monitors? Or where are the 49" OLEDs for near this price point?

But seriously, if somebody is really wanting a 49" 1440p (not 1080p) monitor without breaking the bank, what's a better option than this without encroaching on $1k? "There are no good options right now" is a fine answer if that's true, but let people know this and don't just crap on the post.
