Nah, it's nowhere remotely close to dead.. It's def. not quite ready to go all out Mainstream but there have been an absolute insane amount of advancement in just the last few Years which is substantially more then the previous few Decades combined.

This is just the beginning, dawg. The accessibility of the Quest 3 has opened things up for VR in a crazy way, and not just the price. The fact that my retired mom, who couldn't even figure out Super Mario, was able to set up a headset and play Walkabout Golf with me across the country in less than an hour, it still blows my mind.

It's just a stock one. Not worth it even at a discount. Almost any aftermarket option is going to be more comfortable- especially the facial interface.

Weird. Who would want orange. One of the rare times that the stock accessory looks better than the alternative 1st party accessories. Also no way would I ever go back to stock strap. My Kiwi comfort head strap is so much more comfortable.

Get the $200 quest 2, it's often on sale for that price. I highly recommend a halo style strap if you ever get one, they help a lot with comfort.

No, neither piece of it will fit a Q2.
I have tried the AMVR facial interface and the Globular Cluster facial interface - both of them have flaws that have made me lean more towards the stock interface every time. The stock one gets itchy sometimes, so I tried 2 of the most popular ones (listed above) and both of them had problems you have to compromise with most of the time being the actual foam of the interfaces just aren't as good as the stock one - and they put extra pressure on your face, especially around the nose, and kind of squeeze your face into a smaller cushioned area..

I agree the AMVR one isn't amazing but still better than stock IMO. There are so many different options now, though- I'm sure something else is worth checking out and returning if you hate it. Amazon's a good option for that.
