Double check to see if this is the US model. If it's not, you have no hardware warranty for the switch itself. However, the joy cons can be replaced under Nintendo's goodwill policy for stick drift.

Bought the Splatoon model from their eBay store back in 2022 and it's the Japanese model. That said, I've had no issues with it and it was new in box and can still play any games. I think the console itself is the exact same - it was just the box that had Japanese on it.

They did confirm it's being produced but no dates. Probably 2025 though. I'm waiting for it unless I see under $200 for an oled model.

Are the button inputs swapped? Might be able to change in the settings if so.

The box was in Japanese Smilie

Not that I remember. I think the device/cables/power adapter/etc are all the exact same as the US model - just this one would have no official Nintendo warranty. That said, I believe Nintendo will still RMA any joycon drift these may receive.

If you're talking about a successor to the Switch (i.e. "Switch 2"), that's most likely being released in the first half of 2025, although that's not formally confirmed yet. With that said, most reports point to Nintendo launching it with a LCD screen, not an OLED. They'll likely say it's to control costs, but the real reason is they want an excuse to sell you an OLED version a year or so later.
