This is a manual defrost freezer which I like but many do not. It is 67 inches (under 6 ft.) and 132 lbs. Can you put it in on a diagonal in your SUV? You may want to get a large piece of carboard underneath the cardboard box with the freezer to prevent upholstery tearing. This has been a std price at costco. The nice thing I like is the thermostat is an old fashion mechanical model not like these expensive digital ones. Hope this helps.

My wife picked one of these up a couple of days ago. She was able to get in into her Model Y in the box (tight fit though). She was also able to get it into the house. I'm pretty sure she didn't 'pick it up' but she managed to get it into the garage without a dolly.

Why is that? Is it only because of the manual labor involved to remove frost or is there another reason? Does this decrease the life of the freezer or something else a buyer should know?

Do you keep it indoors or in a garage? Though it says "garage ready," the online documentation specifies a garage that is "kept cool".
