Thanks. Picked one up. Needed a new rice cooker and wanted to try a premium brand. This will do. Don't mind it's made in China.

Cheers.

But this is the regular price for this cooker, how is it a deal? Is it rare or limited quantity???

I ended up returning mine, the warm feature didn't seem to last more than maybe 8 hours or so, then it would shut off. If you're needing a rice cooker that keeps cooked rice warm for days, then you'll want something better. I ended up repairing the one I got from Costco a while back by replacing a thermal fuse for a few bucks. It stopped powering up, so I thought I needed a new one, and gave this one a shot. If you cook rice, and need it to be kept until the next day, you'll find that the rice cooker shuts off after a predetermined time in warming mode. So you end up with cold rice at best. My rice began to dry up near the inner pot for some reason, so another reason for the return. Just sharing my experience for those considering this. My other cooker is also a Cuckoo, but made in Korea.

Regular price is $79.99. https://cuckooamerica.com/collect...s/cr-0605f

Walmart sometimes sells it at regular price and sometimes at $49.XX. When they drop the price to $49.XX, they usually sell out in a week or two, and it can take months to get more in stock.

I've never had a single problem with mine, but I also don't leave the warmer on overnight.

I do leave rice in the cooker overnight. When I need rice the next day, I just turn the warmer on again. By the time the rice starts drying out, it's also starting to go bad.

I agree with taitai3...I would love to find a Micom rice cooker with a stainless inner pot that costs under $200. Let me know if you find one! (Aroma makes one for about $50, but it's the regular clicky-switch kind, not a Micom. Buffalo makes several, but they start at $200 and up.) But at least Cuckoo sells replacement pots for this model, so if you wear off the nonstick you don't have to junk the whole cooker.

Yum Asia rice cookers have ceramic pots. Bought Yum Asia Sakura six months ago after lots of research. So far so good. We make rice couple times a week usually jasmine or basmati. Rice is better than the Hamilton Beach cooker (the model recommended by the Wirecutter) it replaced. Build quality seems very good and love the ceramic pot.

If you wear off the nonstick, you've probably consumed enough PFAS that your concerns about getting a new pot is the least of your worries!

THanks.

I cook and eat rice 14 times a week Big Grin and have gone through many rice cookers, ranging from $19 models at Walmart to $500 high-end Korean brands. Based on my usage, none have lasted more than a couple of years.

One critical feature to consider is whether the lid can be easily disassembled for cleaning, including the rubber inserts and stainless steel or aluminum steam/pressure components. With constant exposure to steam, moisture, and fluctuating temperatures, mold can quickly become an issue if these parts aren't properly cleaned.

In my experience, the inner pot often outlasts the heating elements. If you avoid rinsing rice directly in the pot and don't use metal utensils, it will significantly extend the pot's lifespan. Unfortunately, I've had to discard several cookers simply because they became impossible to clean.

THIS IS REGULAR PRICE FOR AT LEAST A YEAR. It's not a deal, people. It doesn't matter what the cuckoo website says. This is a misleading post.

Stop the fear-mongering. Consuming flaking teflon hasn't been shown to be a serious concern.

Are there any Aroma stainless steel pots (or other manufacturers) of the same 6/12 cup capacity that would fit this Cuckoo?
