In for one. It is a high-end model for Cuckoo with Twin Pressure and IH.

Also in for one. $50 cheaper than cheaper model from Cuckoo direct using Costco Next.

I feel like I would have to cook 100 lbs of rice a year to make a purchase like this worthwhile.

This is one of the highest-end models from Cuckoo which makes better rice cookers than Zojirushi (Zoji makes good rice cookers up to mid-range, they don't have anything for high range). I bought the 10 cup one for my parents' house and I have the 3-cup model for myself. This makes amazing rice and this price is an absolute bargain.

I never understood why this model is so much more than their midrange model. Why is it that much better?

South Asian descent here, rice cookers aren't that common. What are the benefits over the cheaper ones. I've used a Walmart one and a tiger but honestly not sure if the upgrade was worth it. We use Basmati rice.

Does pressure means it cooks rice faster? We splurged on a Zuji only to find that it takes so freaking long to make rice

I have an Aroma $20 rice cooker, and an instant pot with a rice mode... I don't need a $300 rice cooker

Nice rice cooker. I have the 10 cup version. If you're happy with your inexpensive cooker, then good for you. I've had many rice cookers in my 5 decades of existence and I can assure you they're not all the same. Yes, the cheap ones can cook rice. But they will never have the perfect texture as these high end ones. The IH really makes a difference. Kinda reminds me of the bike thread, comparing walmart bikes to high end sworks. I guess ignorance is bliss lol. No one needs a $300+ rice cooker, 5-figure bike, 6-figure car, or a 7 figure home. If you're happy with what you have, that's all that matters. I love mine!😊

The main benefit is the induction heating. Induction heating is more efficient, more even heat distribution, finer temperature control, and less prone to hardware failures.

The higher end model also uses a stainless steel pot, I think has maybe a couple more cooking modes, and some other gimmick features like lowering the power in low light conditions
