I became an electrician 1 year ago and my boss bought me this set about 3 months in, have used it every working day since and used every tool in the set and everything works great so far. Lost my dikes behind a wall and the lineman's pliers took a hit when my boss used them to short a circuit, which created a small gap in the cutters and misaligned the teeth slightly. Also the insulated flathead tip broke pretty early on. Other than that it has been fine for commercial and residential use. Thinking of buying a second set for backup and to replace some tools. Keep in mind a pair of Klein linesman pliers is more expensive than this entire set. Lastly, I kept the pliers facing downwards in the pockets and the lineman's pliers created a hole in one of the pockets.

When I looked this up, I noticed that Home Depot has added the ability to see the in store clearance price in the app. Made it easy for me to find a location that had this deal! For those that say it looks cheap, the tote alone is better than one I paid $124 for, and I've been using the same commercial electric wire strippers for months. I'm not a pro, but I've rewired two rental properties using their strippers. The screwdrivers are decent. I bought it for the tote. The tools were a bonus.

I dunno if it's worth it, even at $30... some 1 star reviews talk about the tools being cheap and breaking. I'm more inclined to trust them since fake reviews are now on sites like these...

Even for throwaway tools, $30 is a good price.

Fortunately, these are decent quality.

A good pair of Kleins cost more than this entire ceap set. As an electrician I would be embarrassed to bring these cheap tools to my job.
You're obviously not an electrician.

In my younger days when I was framing houses we had a new guy come on the job and the hammer he brought was an archaeologist hammer. You can just imagine on a construction site the things said to this guy.

Looks cheap to me and not really an electrician's tool set just a bunch of screw drivers and cheap wire cutters at best.
True. STIILL seems to have a lot of value as a beater set, and to make sure I'm not short a tool when I'm doing something electrical if I hadn't beat them up by then

I would say it is at Kobalt level. I am a contractor and it is absolutely worth it at $33. I bought all 3 at a local HD a few days ago.

Can't help but think you'd be better off with a highly reviewed junk set from Amazon

The longer you do it, the more value you'll put into quality tools. The lineman's I use are around $50 but they are worth it because I use them everyday. Plus as a starter set, this set seems to be missing many essentials such as a hammer, tape measure, reamer, tape measure, level, and channel locks. This set is okay as backup

I'm an electrician too and feel the same way with tools. Don't give af about what anyone else thinks but cheap tools typically don't work well and break easily. But as I was saying to the apprentice above, these are just okay as backups, something to keep in the car trunk.

Doing some fuzzy math - a tote bag, wire stripper, linesman pliers and set of insulated screwdrivers will run you about $30 at HFT. You don't really get more in this set... Random screwdrivers and nut drivers aren't even electrical tools. Take 15% off with the current sale and you've got enough cash left over to throw in a multimeter or GFCI tester and be properly set to do 90% of DIY electrical work.

These definitely are not better tools and even without coupons, aren't cheaper than HFT. I can't imagine the return policy on final clearance liquidation items at Home Depot is lenient enough to make these worth the risk.

Such concern about brand names and being embarrassed at work if you don't have brand name tools. Do you go to work for work or a fashion show ? If you are careful with your tools and they work and get the job done great, isn't that what matters?
We've all seen the noob with the brand name tools that thinks its the tools that matter. Yet the real work is done by the people that rely on their skills and not the brand of their tools. Even the "good" brands have their cheap model lines that fail too often. Giving people grief for using the tools that they can afford is just a pile of BS. If you see this at work, then do something about it. Go buy a tool you think is decent and donate it to the guy. It will do your self respect a whole lot more good than giving grief.

Exactly. These may not be the best, but they're not trash either. I bought this set yesterday. The tote feels sturdy, pliers felt good. Definitely worth $33. For DIY, it should last me a lifetime. $1.5 per piece is slick, and these are full-sized tools,
