I became an electrician 1 year ago and my boss bought me this set about 3 months in, have used it every working day since and used every tool in the set and everything works great so far. Lost my dikes behind a wall and the lineman's pliers took a hit when my boss used them to short a circuit, which created a small gap in the cutters and misaligned the teeth slightly. Also the insulated flathead tip broke pretty early on. Other than that it has been fine for commercial and residential use. Thinking of buying a second set for backup and to replace some tools. Keep in mind a pair of Klein linesman pliers is more expensive than this entire set. Lastly, I kept the pliers facing downwards in the pockets and the lineman's pliers created a hole in one of the pockets.

When I looked this up, I noticed that Home Depot has added the ability to see the in store clearance price in the app. Made it easy for me to find a location that had this deal! For those that say it looks cheap, the tote alone is better than one I paid $124 for, and I've been using the same commercial electric wire strippers for months. I'm not a pro, but I've rewired two rental properties using their strippers. The screwdrivers are decent. I bought it for the tote. The tools were a bonus.

I dunno if it's worth it, even at $30... some 1 star reviews talk about the tools being cheap and breaking. I'm more inclined to trust them since fake reviews are now on sites like these...

Being able to now see clearance status and pricing is a game changer. I still barely ever find the stuff, but it's nice to know if the store actually has it at the discounted price since the prices vary so much from store to store.

I notice that people that have ACTUALLY USED THEM seem to have a positive opinion on them. Maybe those that are negative haven't actually used them. Food for thought on the follies of the dark side of human nature.

Where do you see the added ability for Instore clearance?

Available here, but still debating since I already own several tools from an assorted no name brands, some over 10 years old and a bit rusty, but they are fine and no need to replace them.

Glad it's not in stock near me as I'd be tempted. I need a set but want something better quality.

I'm an electrician too and feel the same way with tools. Don't give af about what anyone else thinks but cheap tools typically don't work well and break easily. But as I was saying to the apprentice above, these are just okay as backups, something to keep in the car trunk.
I get what you're saying, and I agree. aim for quality tools because they can most times make a HUGE differnce in ease, saving frustration and time.

It just irks me when guys are snooty about tools. Acting like the teens from Mean Girls.

A good pair of Kleins cost more than this entire ceap set. As an electrician I would be embarrassed to bring these cheap tools to my job.
I'd be embarrassed to show up to the job site with cheap-o kleins personally
