Great watch. I got the regular version last year for $150 during Thanksgiving. It has been working really well. Gps locks quickly and battery is pretty good even with multiple days of work tracking with gps. I tried the solar version but it doesn't make any difference in battery since you need to be under sun a lot to make any difference

Number one complaint people have about this one is the lack of a touchscreen. Otherwise, great deal.

I've owned countless smartwatches since the pebble and Martian watches like 10 years ago, including apple watches and like 5 Samsung watches. My instinct 2s is by far my favorite.

3 week battery life, gps, really interesting easy to digest health info, easy to read MIP display.

I have smallish wrists and the 2s fits perfectly. It's lightweight and the band is really comfy.

Between my instinct and my edge 530 bike computer, I'm all in on the Garmin ecosystem.

The solar feature is really a gimmick. It doesn't even offset gps usage in the sun in Florida, so if you're tracking activities it's still going to be a net negative.
If you spend a lot of time in the sun but not being active, it's like maybe 1-2% gain per hour on the regular size instinct, the 2s has a smaller face so less solar area.

Touchscreen has its use cases but the selling feature of this watch is it does not have one. I have been using this for about a year now and the battery life is amazing. The data it collects is very useful. The smaller size makes it comfortable to wear all day. The garmin app is very well designed and simple to use. Very rugged. I beat the hell out of mine. It's really a fully featured watch for someone who enjoys fitness but does not want an Apple Watch. Iv tried almost every fitness watch, band and ring out there and this is the one I keep coming back to.

One thing to note the screen is pretty small. It's much easier to read the full size version of this watch. If your eyesight is a concern get the bigger one.

Does the solar add a ton of battery life? Probably not. But it is a cool feature to have.

I have also had it just over 2 years and echo everything khrist has said. I have to charge it very seldom and also beat the crap out of it. It is sometimes difficult for these old eyes to see.

I will say I am on my second one. After almost exactly 2 years the battery rapidly drained and eventually would not turn on even if plugged in. There's only a 1 year warranty on these watches, but Garmin sent me a new one for $99.

I'd agree on that. I got the 2S Solar but wish I had gotten the regular 2, which is the same price now. I have been wearing a 40mm Galaxy Watch but the usable display on the 2S is much smaller in comparison combined with the fact that the E Ink display can be tough to see in some lighting situations. I just use mine for hiking with GPS and navigating trails mapped out with Garmin Explore. It's been great for that.

Did a quick Google search. This appears to be on sale at a number of stores (Bass Pro, Cabelas, Kohls, Best Buy..) for the same price with a better shipping time than 4 November
