It use to work a few years ago, however she has adapted, evolved almost, to see past this tactic.
I ordered a bike from Jenson, it arrived with some damage, they initially responded, then ghosted me. I eventually reached out to the manufacturer asking how to purchase replacement parts (different manufacturer from this deal), they helped and apologized for my jenson experience.

Jenson had years of really bad reviews on BBB very similar with my experience, ghosting about damaged shipments, then over the course of about 8 months they had 3 times as many reviews on BBB that spoke of just how great they were. That pattern seems very special.
This is an awesome deal, and I must resist as my wife would kill me.

I can't find its weight in specification. Third party website says it's 19.71 lbs without pedals or accessories.

Got one of these in XL. Mine is exactly 19.7 lbs without pedals, which is pretty decent for a bike with pretty heavy components.

Really tempting, as Jenson also has Panaracer Gravelking 28mm (TLC) for $39.48 as well.

I bought this and returned it. Ultimately it just felt like an ugly bike because of how they did the internal cable routing. They were better off just not doing internal routing at all. Also the bolt to tighten the seatpost is a terrible design.

The older generation TCR did the routing the same way. Yes I agree, its ugly to route through the top of the bottom tube.

I have an REI coop house brand CTY 1.1 that I bought a year and a half ago for like $400 on sale and have since put ~3000 miles on it. Overall it's been a great bike for me as I just ride on a paved trail, but I've been feeling like it might be time to upgrade to a more serious bike. I've kept my eyes on SD for a good deal but in reality I don't have the slightest idea what's actually a good deal or a good upgrade for me lol any bike experts here have any advice for me? TIA

I'm far from an expert, but I do know that the 105 groupset is a desirable one and the first step into "more serious" bikes. This is a great price for a new bike with that groupset. No idea how good the actual manufacturer or this site/shop is though. Magnesium isn't a typical frame material either.
edit- not saying it is worse than aluminum, seems to be better? but it's worth reading about to learn more as a unique offering with this bike
update - reading and watching some reviews the biggest benefits are the strength and weight for cost. It is said to be stronger than other materials while lighter than aluminum (carbon fiber still lighter) and was considered priced well at MSRP so it's a great deal at this price. Biggest criticisms were the welds are pretty big and ugly, but apparently that's necessary for strong enough welds with the frame material.
There is a thought this company, which is owned by Huffy apparently, will be dissolved which is the reason for the fire sales of this brand.

Groupset is $500 on this bike and probably the most attractive thing on it. Not sure what to make of a frame that only takes 30C tires. I wish it took 35C then it would be a much more versatile bike.

Can't justify it in my current stable, but it is tempting at this price.

This is a good bike in the groupset and pretty good to okay frame. It would probably be a good beginner ROAD bike. With wheel and tire upgrades, it could be a very good road bike for the money. But just to be clear, this is designed as a go fast and probably ride in spandex bike.
I do think buying from this store and this brand, you have a higher chance of something going wrong. And you DEFINITELY want different tires on this ASAP.
I'd probably recommend the REI ADV 2.3 if you are considering any type of gravel riding at all. I think it's on sale for $1500 and REI really stands behind their products.
