I bought one of these about a year ago. Did not come with a charging cord for trickle charging the onboard battery. Found this that I can use with my battery tender. Thought others might benefit.

I wish more people would get these for emergencies.

That said, campground campers PLEASE LEAVE THEM HOME home when you go camping in a campground. Boondocking, fine, whatever. But if you're in a rustic, no power, no flush toilets forest service campground with lots of tent campers, please show some restraint. And if you absolutely have to turn it on (I dunno, maybe you need to charge your cpap battery?), do it for like an hour max.

I was just camping over the weekend and someone had this brand and was proud of it. They spent the whole weekend inside their trailer (beautiful weather, low 70s, no bugs!) and ran this nearly nonstop. Why?

I know it says only 57db, but there's more to it than just volume. At least in a natural setting. Close to it, it seemed quietish on the surface but we were aware of it running all over the campground. Even 20 feet from a loud mountain stream, you could sense the drone. Would it bother me in my neighborhood if I knew people were without power? Heck no. But in the woods? Skip it.

Thank you for listening to my rant.

I think this is the best price I've ever seen for dual fuel electric start of this size.
Nice find.

FYI, the 3200 Watt gas one is $283 one as well.... This is a steal under $300. I just picked another up, even though i have absolutely no need for one.
It doesn't look like the 3200 model is dual-fuel. Having the propane option can be a big advantage. It's easier to store for longer periods than gas which has a limited shelf life.

You can link gas generators in series to combine their output ?
You cam if they're the same brand. I'm not sure it's feasible in my situation.

Any long term high hour reviews on this gen? All the reviews I see online are pretty much unboxings and first impression reviews lol.

I got one but haven't hard to use it yet outside of just running it to test it. Just curious. Seems like a super solid no brainer buy for the emergency use scenario.

At this price like someone else said... just saving the food in your refrigerator / Freezer 1 time and it could pays for itself.

Inverters yes, it's called paralleling.

Generally though they must at least be the same brand and ideally the same model. The two will communicate to synchronize AC output, so it could be that 2 different brands would work together (the connections are generally universal) but it also could be that they'd nuke each other.

For some generators you need a special kit:

https://firmanpowerequipment.com/...ducts/1201

Not sure that's the exact model you'd need but it's at least representative.

Some can just basically be wired together:

just had outages here from hurricane Francine. What all were you able to run off of this ?
Fridge freezer combo/ freezer upright/ 6 circuits with lights and router etc. furnace fan (no central AC of course). Kept the devices charged/ did run the coffee and air fryer a bit and that really revved it up lol

Just curious, do you have a transfer switch or how do you get power to the house circuits with the genny?
Transfer switch, reliance 6 circuit. See other reply for what I run on it. Its a fantastic setup for 1/6 the price of a whole house generac etc to cover the essentials and get through events.

With coupon and taxes the total (for me) came out to $344.16 shipped. Seems like a good deal considering this is a refurb unit and these are a little under $1K new from Firman.
My guess it the vast majority of refurbing is carb related or extreme cases where stator was replaced (?)

Also, what is the "F" designation in the model number? Google returned no results for WH03242F - is that a "rebuilt" designation maybe?

I bought one during the last sale about a month ago. Box came and generator was in decent shape but had obviously been run. It had some oil left in it and it was black as could be, still had an odor of gasoline in the tank. LP regulator was missing which I'm still trying to get Firman to replace. Very slow customer service.

Their customer support told me all refurbs will have under 100 hours of use. I believe they reset the hour meter before shipment as well.

I bought this last month. It had minor scuffs but the motor area was spotless. It shipped quickly. Tested it and everything worked. Now I need to find a battery charger that fits it because I don't run it enough to maintain the battery. Glad it also has a recoil start.
You can disconnect the battery, if it's sitting unused for months. That's what I do, and then when I run it to test it every 6 months or so, it starts right up.

Parallel question here. Storing gasoline for this. It looks like this draws from an external gas tank. So, how do you store gas long term? Fuel stabilizer, and how long is that good for? Does external temp of where you store it matter in the longevity of gas+stabilizer? ie Texas heat, or Michigan cold? Lets say you get a 25 gallon tank, add stabilizer and its time to get more. Can you just add more stabilizer, or do you need to get a fresh 25 gallons. And if you have to get a new batch of gas, can you run the old gas through your car, or what do you do with it?

There are some older really detail threads about this and other Firman generators from ebay. The search function is your friend here to answer questions.

Short versions. I bought one previously. Mine looked basically new. Runs like a champ. Love that it runs off of propane. It was "cheap insurance" for me since my power has yet to go out now. Isn't that how it always works.

Never found a cheap stand alone charger for the battery. I know someone posted an adapter they use for their battery tender but you need to have one of those too in that scenario.

The clip on the propane attachment broke on mine, but I assume a kid knocked into it with their bike in the garage and not the fault of the product.

If you need a generator. BUY IT.

Great price. My take is that I don't have a need for 120v gensets that exceed a standard 20A circuit power capability.

I'd be tempted by a 240v inverting genset, but of course those are more costly.

Here's where I look to find exactly the specs that suit my needs.

Any idea how you move this thing? I don't see any handles that allow you to tip it like older 2-wheeled luggage.

Do you just drag it?

If you look in the eBay picture #17 it looks like there's a flip up handle.

It has a swing out handle. A plastic insert on mine broke the second time I wheeled it around, rendering it useless. But I finagled the bolt and it's hanging on now. Could replace with a cheap piece of threaded rod and a few nuts and washers.

The generator itself (bought mine refurbished thru Firman direct) got me thru Debby this year modified to run off natural gas per a youtube video. Worked great for 36 hrs straight powering essential refrigerators, lights, etc.
