I bought one of these about a year ago. Did not come with a charging cord for trickle charging the onboard battery. Found this that I can use with my battery tender. Thought others might benefit.

I wish more people would get these for emergencies.

That said, campground campers PLEASE LEAVE THEM HOME home when you go camping in a campground. Boondocking, fine, whatever. But if you're in a rustic, no power, no flush toilets forest service campground with lots of tent campers, please show some restraint. And if you absolutely have to turn it on (I dunno, maybe you need to charge your cpap battery?), do it for like an hour max.

I was just camping over the weekend and someone had this brand and was proud of it. They spent the whole weekend inside their trailer (beautiful weather, low 70s, no bugs!) and ran this nearly nonstop. Why?

I know it says only 57db, but there's more to it than just volume. At least in a natural setting. Close to it, it seemed quietish on the surface but we were aware of it running all over the campground. Even 20 feet from a loud mountain stream, you could sense the drone. Would it bother me in my neighborhood if I knew people were without power? Heck no. But in the woods? Skip it.

Thank you for listening to my rant.

I think this is the best price I've ever seen for dual fuel electric start of this size.
Nice find.

Funny this shows up on my feed today. Had power out this morning, grabbed it from the garage, wheeled it around to my external input to my transfer switch (Reliance Controls Transfer Switch 3006HDK 8000 Watts Generator 6-Circuit 30A), used the battery start, fired it up, plugged it in and then went down into the basement to start bringing circuits online.

Started with my primary fridge, had a slight stumble and stalled, but may not have been warmed up. Went back out, restarted generator and it energized the fridge circuit, no problem. Then I proceeded to add the garage fridge which also has a soda machine (so 3 fridge/freezers), kitchen outlets (computer and small items), garage doors, furnace fan and the circuit with my router. All came up, generator ran smoothly, was surprised! I thought I might have to alternate fridges, but I know at least 2 were running, possibly 3. Very impressed. I think I paid over $500 for mine back with a Costco deal, but it did what it needed to do. Of course, after being out for several hours, I restored power with the generator and after 10 minutes of running, power came back on. I let it run for another 20 minutes and it was fine and then I switch all circuits back. The computer didn't even power off cutting back to the grid. Next project is to just store the generator out near the plug in some type of generator house so I don't have to drag it across the yard in possibly inclement weather or snow.

Seems like a steal for just over $300 so long as the refurb is good.

I also use it for camping and run the AC overnight. Has worked well.

Bought this one last time around, just had outages and it performed really well on gas. Ran it for 42 hrs straight to power the house. Saved the $300-400 in groceries between freezer and fridge

Changed oil after that and had minimal "gunk". Pretty happy for under $500

I will say the battery isn't worth a dang after like a month of sitting (manual says run often so it's just the nature of things without a trickle/solar top off)
How much gas did it use up in those 42 hours? Did you use ethanol free gas or regular gas?

Bought this last year when it was on sale for like $289. I still haven't' put oil in it and started it but it sure looks pretty in my garage lol. I also own the 1600/2000 watt that I use for camping due to its light weight and it hasn't had any issues.

Note: It does NOT come with the oil, funnel, link cables or wrench. It only comes with the propane connector / valve and comes in a generic cardboard box marked "Refurbished".
What do you mean link cables?

It has a swing out handle. A plastic insert on mine broke the second time I wheeled it around, rendering it useless. But I finagled the bolt and it's hanging on now. Could replace with a cheap piece of threaded rod and a few nuts and washers.

The generator itself (bought mine refurbished thru Firman direct) got me thru Debby this year modified to run off natural gas per a youtube video. Worked great for 36 hrs straight powering essential refrigerators, lights, etc.
Please link for that video?

Any chance you can provide a link to the cable you bought that you're using to hook up to your transfer switch?

For sure. If you only use propane, it is a lot easier/ cleaner to store etc.

Small parallel cables that lets you link two of them together to output "double" output but in realitiy its more like 66-75% of both of their combined capacities. If you look at the face of the generator, they plug into the two small circular ports under the on/off switch

Thank you for posting this. The battery in my generator came completely dead (1.7 volts), so I haven't been able to fire it up yet. Firman is going to send me a replacement battery, but I need a way to charge it going forward. What tender do you use with yours + this adapter?

I got one a year ago for $399.99-$80, so this is $8 better! Mine came with signs of minor use, but threw oil in and it works great.

Since mine didn't come with a trickle charger, I got some SAE battery charging connector cables from AliExpress and hooked it up. I can pop it on my car charger every few months for a quick bump. But it otherwise works great for the limited use I have had.

That is the video I used. I have run mine loaded to about 2700 watts on NG and it was clearly working hard, but voltage was stable around 120.
