How much do you expect for a non-carrier promotion for a 4-year old base model phone?

AT&T & T-Mobile offer $1K value for iPhone 12 with their premium plans. Many are buying it for trading in with their carrier. Already got a 12 from Metro last deal, which was $50 more.

Keeping my current phones (13 and higher) as spares so I can trade these in instead for less.
If you don't auto-pay or extend service, there is nothing to cancel. You just stop paying. Based on what I have read, device should auto unlock after 12 months from activation and continued service is not required.

Check out the unlock policy link I shared earlier.

Apple website shows up to $180 trade-in value for the iPhone 12. So much for iPhones holding onto their trade in values

Bought iphone 12 from the last deal about 2 weeks ago, but now when I try to add another line it says right on the iphone 12 page:

"Sorry, you are not eligible to add a new line. Please contact support to discover the reason for ineligibility. 1-888-8metro8"

Anyone else have this or know what the problem is?

EDIT: just tried again (a couple of hours later) and it worked. So added a 2nd line for $35.

How many total lines you have added in your account?

If you don't auto-pay or extend service, there is nothing to cancel. You just stop paying. Based on what I have read, device should auto unlock after 12 months from activation and continued service is not required.

This is all speculation at this point, we wouldn't know for sure until May of 2025. Devices purchased prior to May of 2024 are unlocking fine 180 days after the initial activation, even if the Metro service was only paid for one month.

Would it be possible to port a GV number? Or maybe buy a AT&T number off of e Bay (I remember doing that a very long time ago)?

I have the same issue. Just one line in the account but it won't let me buy another. I even called that number and the rep is telling me that the second line is too cheap (only $35) and the system may not willing to honor that. I know that's not true. Many people ordered 2. I guess we got blocked by some other algorithm.
