How much do you expect for a non-carrier promotion for a 4-year old base model phone?

AT&T & T-Mobile offer $1K value for iPhone 12 with their premium plans. Many are buying it for trading in with their carrier. Already got a 12 from Metro last deal, which was $50 more.

Keeping my current phones (13 and higher) as spares so I can trade these in instead for less.

If you don't auto-pay or extend service, there is nothing to cancel. You just stop paying. Based on what I have read, device should auto unlock after 12 months from activation and continued service is not required.

I went to AT&T corporate store tonight and got my $1,000 credit toward iPhone 16 Pro.

I also went to Verizon website and entered the IMEI and it was accepted there for trade-in also.

I think I screwed it up. I had bought one of the iPhone 12 last week for $49 +$75 plan.

Got a $5 new line with visible to port in and add a line to the original account.

In the middle of the order process I had the visible port out pin text message open and accidentally grazed screen and hit the link to invalidate the port out pin so it failed.

And now metro says I'm not eligible to add a line to the original account. 😒

At the very last step of payment, the website asked me to verify my identity, by asking me three multiple choices question: 1) any license I got 2) my previous phone number 3) my previous address. I tried my best to answer those questions but they still rejected my order...

I'm also wondering where did they get those information.

I keep trying to sign into my account after placing the order and get the error "Something went wrong while serving your request". Tried over 6 hours later and still getting the same error. Anyone else having this issue?

It did that to me last week but all the questions had nothing to do with me so I got them all wrong even though I said none of the above/did not apply. Finally got through on my work computer with chrome in incognito mode and a different credit card and it didn't even ask me anything.

I've been trying to get this deal all day and have been rejected all day. I tried every combination I can think of, VPN, middle name, apt number, and nothing worked. Must be because I've gotten too many Metro deals in the past.

Then I tried my wife's name and CC = worked first time.

In case it helps anyone porting a Google voice number. Your acct number is the number of the Phone Number you're porting. That easy. The pin is 1234 or at least that's what worked for me.

I think I had the same thing until I received my phone. After you log in, they text you a code. Because you don't have an active phone yet, it errors out.
