I have a tenda 8 port that's been up for like 18mo. Zero issues, full gigabit throughput in testing. No complaints!

The 5 port metal case is for $6.78. I think that's a better deal.

Edit: That's not a gigabit one as @lentm pointed out. Sorry for the wrong information.

Looks like that one you linked is a little bit smaller in size (per the 2nd photo on the item page) than the OP one. Not sure that matters but smaller and cheaper if that's needed.

They should be the same product but different revisions. The promotion limits one per account. You may buy two at slightly different prices if needed.

This Tenda switch is probably "fine", but if you're looking for a 5 port unmanaged switch it's hard to go wrong with the TP-Link TL-SG105 for $13 AC. It has a metal casing. It will be easier to mount. https://goughlui.com/2022/02/27/u...et-switch/

I was recently looking for a small switch for my TV center. (Just need three ports). I ended up getting the TL-SG108E and putting my very old D-link under the TV instead. Yeah it's like double the price of the TL-SG105 (or more than that than the Tenda option here.), but I was concerned the Tenda will eventually become e-waste where-as this tp-link is managed and I could likely find a use for it for far longer.

Keep in mind this is really only adding 3 extra ports. If you've got a cable already going someplace that gets you 1 device. That cable takes up 1 port on the switch and then you can connect 4 devices to the remaining ports. You go from 1 device to 4 devices so you gain 3 additional ports at that location. An 8 port switch is not much more and gets you a lot more additional devices. Maybe you don't "need" them right now and might not "need" them in the future but I'd much rather having things wired, when possible, so extra wired ports is not a bad thing IMO.

Be careful with Tenda. The router I had called home frequently for more than a ping. Then again the US brands do that too. So….. just be careful.
