30A with 10-3. IMO, a mini split might cost 500 or 1000$ but a 1200 btu unit will use around 8A. Long term you are going to save on energy, and short term you save on wire. Plus you get AC for the summer

I know I would have to hire an electrician but could I have them install this in an unfinished basement with insulation above the heater?

Would it be acceptable to wire in another 220 outlet pigtailed from my dryer outlet that would be accessible at the wall separating the garage and utility room?

I know they have splitters for electric vehicle charging, so both cannot be active at the same time. Might have to go that route too.

How many square feet/cubic feet can this thing heat roughly? Can it heat a 3 car garage that's about 700 square feet with 8 foot ceilings?

How cost efficient would this be to run at a low temp in a garage during the winter, just to keep from freezing. We have a garage that would rarely be opened, and stores a pontoon boat, jetski, and riding mower. I'm wondering if this would be too expensive to run just to prevent freezing temps.

Is the garage attached to your house? If so, and your garage is sealed well, it would be fine but a large radiator might be more efficient with the electric bill. If it's a detached garage and the walls/roof isnt insulated, and you get very cold winters, this thing will probably run 24/7 and still not keep your garage warm.
