One thing that sucks about the set is that the new retail packaging leaves you with a set of loose tools. [crescenttool.com]
The old retail package served as a shitty case. [hardwareandtools.com]
Personally I feel justified getting more expensive set w/ a flex-head on the pass-thru ratchet and case .
Not the biggest fan of Apex tools. Their brands used to be fairly high quality before Cooper/Danaher sold them to Bain Capital and they shifted to putting their brand labels on mostly inferior Chinese-made tools.
Still I have been happy getting NAPA to instore no receipt warranty swap broken Gearwrench stuff (assuming it is something common enough they have it in stock) so guessing I could do the same with Crescent if it came up.
