FYI the website says regular price is $59 not $139. Out of curiosity, where did that number come from?

Reason for asking - a $90 discount on a $140 engine stand is a maybe. A $10 discount on a $60 engine stand is a hard no. Not sure how much I trust a $60 engine stand to hold "1000 lbs" while I work on it. I'm not that angry with my toes at the moment lol

The same stand is $140 at Blain's. A similar stand is $100 at Harbor Freight. I'd stop worrying about some crossed out price that you aren't paying anyways and instead look at the actual price in comparison to what you are getting and what that would cost you elsewhere.

I didn't take the regular price from Menards as they don't regularly sell this item. Once it's gone it's gone. You correctly guessed I took the Farm and Fleet price as it's a normally stocked item there.

I wouldn't trust this stand personally, Blains has (1) 1 star review and I would not compare this to the harbor freight stand which appears to be much sturdier construction. I've used the harbor freight stand and wouldn't trust it with any more than 500lbs (I've used it with a LS1 that's under 400lbs and it was questionable for more than just storage).

I had this same one. It came with a spare engine I bought off marketplace. It's pretty flimsy and not worth paying for unless you are only doing 4 cylinder stuff at most

These cheap stands are fine. They will hold the rated amount reasonably well when you've got a v8, v6, or i4. However, for long i6 configurations, the center of mass gets further from the column and stability deteriorates quickly and it becomes very difficult to rotate the engine. I did a ford 300ci on one of these and with all of the accessories attached, it was borderline unsafe. Once it was stripped to the block, it was fine.

The only review I could find was here: https://www.farmandfleet.com/prod...lsrc=aw.ds I have 3 other engine stands and I always stitch weld the square tubes together usually held by hardware just to take the slop out. But if it's this bad from the box it's probably not worth it.
