How does everyone feel about 1080 on this? I know being an ultrawide 34" means it's roughly the same vertical height as a 27" or so (where I use 1080p daily for work), so it should be a wash…

I think it's closer to the vertical height of a 22" monitor

It's a 27" monitor if you use the 16:9 portion of it.
