Ridiculous waste of money. Buy some eneloops and charger from the other thread and have the ability to swap new batterys mid game.

I wouldn't say a waste of money. This is definitely more of a luxury purchase. There is no need for it, and rechargeable batteries are much better value. But it is convenient. It's nice to give your controller a dedicated home where you know that it will be charged up to 100% each day.

I splurged and bought one to match my red controller a few years ago. I liked it, but even then I thought $25 was a bit much. Thankfully, I jumped on the Verizon deal last year when these were $10 and bought 4 more. IMO, these stands should be $25 MSRP, and even less on sale.

If you really want a wireless charging stand, I'm not sure if there are better options than this. Cheaper no-name ones off Amazon have very questionable quality. I've bought cheap ones for both Xbox and Switch controllers, and I've felt like their poor reliability made them not even worth it.

Here we go with all the "just get rechargeable battery" comments. This deal is for those who don't want to be switching batteries but instead just plug and play. Sure, it only takes 20 secs to change batteries, but it adds up over time not to mention the aggregate inconvenience.

Coming from playstation environment, it is the second biggest disadvantage (after proprietary ssd) to xbox imo. I personally wouldn't go for this deal and just get a $10 insignia from BB. I actually just have the insignia play and charge kit and it's awesome

Or just spent the same amount you would on some fastfood and have a dock you don't have to worry about messing with batteries.

Always someone on here that personifies the "shhhh people enjoy things" meme

Couldn't disagree with you more. I come to slickdeals more for the smart comments about different ways of doing things than the actual deals. The commenter wasn't stopping you from buying the deal, he was just offering an alternative. What could be wrong with that?

This IS essentially a play and charge kit.
I have one of these and a play and charge kit.

They are not the same. One sits on a stand and charges. The other plugs into the controller and allows me to use the controller.

There's a difference between stating ones opinion and making blanket statements. These comments on batteries seem much more like blanket statements than personal opinions.

And then there's also the slickdeals effect where a bunch of ignorant people talk bad about a product even though it isn't a product meant for them e.g. most products that aren't optimized to be the cheapest possible, even when sacrificing quality.

There's a difference between saying "Keep in mind having rechargeable batteries to swap out is cheaper than this" and "Waste of money (full stop)"

Had one of these and it broke on the second charge, just kept giving me an amber light and wouldn't charge the battery anymore. Returned it and never bothered trying another.

With having a Switch, PS5, and XSX I quickly found how crappy it is that Xbox didn't include rechargeable batteries and wireless charging. My PS5 is awesome with having the wireless charger and 2 controllers always fully charged but the Xbox sucks and one of the controllers always seems to die at the worst times. I play apex with my daughter and it is very annoying every few days when her controller dies in the middle of a battle and she has to swap out controllers. This is the only system I've ever had this issue with.

I have one of these their great, gaming is a luxury and a way to waste money people should chill.
I have rechargable batteries with a great charger and extras, and it's just extra work for a controller. So much easier to just dock the controller when you're done, I think I paid a little less for mine. I have a PS5 one too I got for a nice price, good stuff to have.
I mean people are on the wrong site if they're worried about saving money

These are very convenient, assuming the batteries don't die out quickly. I've been using a "PowerA" brand charging stand for three years -- those batteries haven't shown any obvious sign of degradation, and I much prefer it over dealing with AAs. My only complaint about the PowerA is that controller sits on it loosely, and I sometimes have to adjust it to get it to charge. I might get this just to see how it compares.

I used the Xbox-branded play-and-charge kit, and that battery only lasted a year, like many reports on this Razer kit. Maybe it's luck of the draw.

I have a few of these and really like them. No worry of cords, no battery switching, no plugging anything in (to the controller). Just put it on the stand when you're done and it's freshly charged by next session. Charges last longer than I usually do (12+ hrs).

Not your cheapest option, but I find it to be the most convenient. A lot of haters on here though.
