This is common sense. Of course a product with thousands more pieces that costs $750 more is going to make a world of difference. Some people want legos for their kids and not a $850 set for adults. That's what this set is catered to.

Y'all buy $100+ Lego sets for your kids? I though this was the budget friendly adult model?

For kids who really love Legos (and Star wars), sure. Not buying any and all sets for this much. The X-Wing, Tie Fighter, and others were fun. Add them together and it's not that far off. Though, it really doesn't matter who wants it, kids, adults, or building together. Good deal overall.

Yes. For birthdays, Christmas, etc. There are lots of great Star Wars ships or Ninjago dragons my kid loves putting together. The Friends line also has quite a few sets over $100 like the city buildings. That's why these sets are usually in the 8+ age range. The adult kits are 18+ and usually for display.

My daughter asked for this set to Santa for 3yrs in a row, so on that 3rd year I gave in a got it for her. She was right at the age where she was starting to question, so getting something huge like this made a big impact... at least for one more year.

This was too hard for her to build in her own, so it created a nice opportunity for daddy-daughter time which was a nice bonus. Our only complaint with this set is that it doesn't come with Han or Rey... but instead they have a random alien who was in the movie for what, a few seconds?

I own and have built the 7.5K piece Millennium Falcon. Although it's the most expensive set I've bought, it's also far from the most fun build I've done. And of course it looks epic, but requires a significant amount of space to display. I haven't built the set in this deal, but there are many reasons to go for this vs. the UCS set
