I have the H10, and I like it. H10 is good but "pretty much the gold standard" is Polar marketing. At this level, all chest sensors have similar performance and similar drawbacks. The differences are:
- Garmin is half the price of H10!
- While Garmin does pretty much the same as H10 and As well as H10, it has no memory. It transmits all data live to any device(watch/phone/etc) it's connected to. Your app on that device will save data.
- Garmin has a larger battery, about 1.5 times bigger than H10. This isn't as big a deal as it sounds. H10 battery lasts about a year on average (though H10 is/was notorious for having battery issues; read the reddit posts)
- Garmin has a different strap. A big selling point of the H10 is the pro strap which supposedly keeps the sensor in better contact with the chest and improves data quality. H10 strap is also reinforced and more durable than other straps. At the same time it's the most expensive strap out there ($35 just for the strap!). In my experience, it depends a lot on your physique and what you do; a bigger chest/ back/ trunk and a lot of core/torso/mat/bending exercises make short work of even the H10 strap (if you just run, you're in luck). Once the strap is stretched, the signal dropouts start, and my mental health goes out the window. I have tried whatever you can imagine (including eeg gels obviousely) and the reliability is still shit. Polar is thirsty for straps (as all of these chest sensors are) but the $35 strap really makes you question your life choices.
- dual HR means it uses both BT low and BT smart protocols, in addiiton to Ant+. That's the boring part, and same as H10. The cool part is that it transmits to two BT devices simultaneously, just like the "gold standard" H10.(They both transmit to unlimited Ant+ devices also).

Since I got fed up with the H10 dropout issues, I got myself a cheap ($29) but reliable below-elbow sensor(Scosche rhythm 2.0). It has the typical optical lag, but I get zero dropouts due to my core movements. The straps also doesn't need replacing as it's on my arm instead of chest. For the same reason, it gets extra points for comfort. It can also be worn on calves.

This is exclusively a chest strap.

This is a great HR strap and a real workhorse! ProTip: you want to have it on a little tighter than you think is comfortable when standing still (i.e. when not exercising), once you get going you won't feel it anymore — not too tight, but you don't want it loose.

I picked up one of these the last time it was on sale. I was able to pair it with my Apple Watch, Garmin Epix, iPhone, Adidas Run with no issues. It's simple, seems to do its job fine. I have no issues with the strap either.

How is this different from the H10 which is pretty much the gold standard? What does the "dual" HR mean.

I think this is Ant+ and Bluetooth low energy connection options.

I'm Seeing $50 with seller "eKings." Title seems to indicate shipped/sold by Amazon. Is this dead?

Wow great price!! Have the Polar for one… it's nice to throw the strap part in the washer every week or two, so might grab one as a spare.

I only have one heart that I know of so I don't think I need the dual.

I have this and it's great. As others have said, cinch it up a little tighter than you think otherwise it will slip down
