Just a head's up for those who regularly use Sensodyne. Got this for MrsRuffles and saw that the Repair and Protect line doesn't contain the anti-sensitivity ingredient that's in traditional lines of Sensodyne. The only active ingredient is stannous fluoride which is supposed to have anti-sensitivity properties but is not its exclusive use.

This is the same active ingredient (in the same strength) as Colgate's Total line of toothpaste. I've been able to get 3.4 oz tubes of Total at my local supermarket for $1.00 (a few times even 50¢) with sales and in-store coupons.YMMV as usual.

That's great to hear.

The reason it sounds harsh is because a perfectly safe product (Novamin) is available everywhere else in the world without a prescription.

Meanwhile, high fructose corn syrup, an ingredient so poisonous and lethal that it is banned everywhere else in the world, is legal in the US. This is the largest contributing factor to the diabetes and obesity epidemic in this country.

So it seems the regulations are made from a corporate profit perspective, and not a public health perspective.

The problem is the very agencies that are supposed to regulate corporations are in the pocket of the corporations they are supposed to regulate, across all industries- Agriculture, Pharma, banking, etc.

Raising awareness and teaching the masses to "vote" with their wallet is key.

To elaborate on this, Sensodyne sold outside the US has Novamin, which is a superior anti sensitivity ingredient than the fluoride in this product. I bought some while traveling and it's on another level. Here in the "Land of the Free" Novamin is prescription toothpaste that requires a dentist visit and $$$.

So this post is correct, this is regular toothpaste at an inflated price, intentionally downgraded from the international version.

USA Sensodyne is just regular toothpaste. Stop posting this crap, it's overpriced even at the coupon price.

A bit harsh on the whole situation, but per an industry insider, Novamin is likely to get FDA Clearance in the not too distant future here in US. Hopefully that means commercial availability across multiple product lines. (I did but Sensodyne when last in Canada too)
