Pass. Using points for non-travel purchases is generally bad value, especially when you factor in how much spending and time it takes to build up 35k points.
This deal saves about $60. Might as well just wait a few more weeks for a straight $50 discount when retailers start doing pre-black friday sales.
Not too long ago Chase had 50% points boost, which is a way better deal if you cant wait for it again.
Unpopular comment here but if you utilize Chase's travel partners like Hyatt through Sapphire, you can routinely get 2-3X value versus this 1.15X value. Not really a deal IMO but to each their own

You are not required to use points. One can use zero points and still get 15%off
This. I would highly recommend people checkout but select to split between points and cash, and then select to use zero points. To get 15% off is fine. I just wouldn't use Chase UR points, which are far more valuable than 1.15 cents per point.
I paid with cash. Great deal. Horrible use of points but great deal paying with 100% cash.
damn, so this implies redeem ultimate rewards as a bank direct deposit is a terrible use of points right? i literally just did that a couple days ago. didn't know they had extra value when used towards travel

How long it takes to build up 35k points??? That's like a third of an Ink sign up bonus, so about a week or two for me lol
I travel a lot. I just never booked any travel via chase before. What is the redemption rate for ultimate rewards for things like hotels, flights, etc.?
For miles and points and credit cards, SD is the wrong resource with really bad info.
Look elsewhere. OTOH people who are doing it the wrong way, subsidizing a better value for the more informed ones
The first rule of thumb is never ever to redeem transferrable points for products.
You'll get much better value for travel or HODL!

I argue give me a watch for 40k points that I use 18 hours a day for 3 years. Versus an 8 hour flight in business class. But if you want bragging rights how you got a 10k flight for 104k points, I get it.
However if you never fly then I can see the appear of business class. I can sleep anywhere, so business class is nice but not a must have for me.
I do enjoy redemptions for hotels, like when I got a week in the Maldives overwater bungalow for 124k Marriott points a couple years ago. However I get more value out of an iPad or watch than a hotel or flight.
