I have one of these, one of the only Mini PCs around this price point that have Type C power.

These have had bad rep in the past for having shady software installed. As you should with all Mini PCs, install your own OS.

You can find them on their website. What you want are the AM06 Pro Drivers

I have had many hardware issues with Ace Magician products. Of the 8 or so purchased, half have failed within 1 year and most within two months. Customer service is awful, and they make you jump through so many hoops to get a repair or replacement.

The price is very attractive, but there is a reason these are so inexpensive.

How does this compare to the $239 Beelink EQR6 Ryzen 5 6600H Mini PC?

Not sure why this has so many upvotes. You can regularly get 7735HS mini pcs with 16GB/512GB for under 300 on ali, which has faaar superior performance.
I'd love a link for that, the cheapest I found was $350. Would a 7735HS work as a 3-screen pinball cabinet running FX3?

Thank you so much for this. Some of the most useful help I've ever gotten on slick deals
How did you end up dealing with the driver issues after the reinstall? Specifically the WIFI driver issues? Thanks for the great info.

Price is up a bit on ali right now, but there is one at $280 after coupon on Amazon:

Make sure you update the drivers. Mine had terrible performance until I did that.

i bought this, am returning it.
I installed a clean copy of the OS right away, but it kept freezing and crashing. What's concerning is that the unit also hangs during the bios loading screen. If the firmware is compromised, its not something that reinstall/virus scanners can remedy. The company claims that malware was from 3rd party vendors.. but this just means that they don't have safety checks in place to prevent bad actors in the supply chain. Granted mine just might be a faulty unit, but im not taking any chances given the history.
Yeah, same with me. I did a setup with the preloaded Windows and ran it through Defender, Eset and Malwarebytes without detecting any viruses, but their installer was unusual and couldn't risk it so I loaded a fresh copy of Windows 11 using the drivers off their website. Sounds like some people got theirs working, but I had tons of problems. Slow boots, drivers not loading, mysterious freezes. I'm better than most with tracking down problems in Windows, but I gave up after a couple of days because it wasn't cost effective any more...

You can go to their website and download drivers and put them on a thumb drive. When the windows installer can't access the internet, it will ask you if you have a driver, and you direct the path to the thumb drive. You'll have to do that for a bunch of the other devices as well.

You seem to find better deals than I can, I see that as $399 with a $50 off coupon, so $349. According to camelcamelcamel, that has been the price since July. Was the coupon for $120 off at the time you replied?

It was the prime day sale combined with a coupon. If you're looking at it now, it's already over. Slickdeals doesn't allow aliexpress links, but if you search for firebat 7735hs mini pc over there, you'll probably be able to find one for under $300 as well.

i heard that if you download the wifi driver/drivers from ace magician after a clean windows install that you are potentially also just reinstalling their malware. so to keep it extra safe what i did was i bought a usb wifi adapter, plugged it into the mini pc and have been getting reliable internet that way, everything else works well after letting windows update a few times and so it's thing

A general comment about these mini pc's. I got a few and my favorite cheap brands aka not ASUS are found via amazon and the big Chinese sellers websites that also ship free.MinisforumBeelinkGMKtecThe cheapest have the weakest cpus but they update these often so you don't typically get many generations old ones. I see a few as well as those sale $170 laptops with an Intel 4020 2core very weak cpu. I'd not get that. I have a few 4core N100s and they seem ok for general use. This deal has a better cpu. When you first boot up you are directed to login to your microsoft account. I get privacy and all that but if you don't do it your registration of the win 11 pro OEM key won't be saved and if you need to re-install it is hard as someone said. Likewise finding drivers if you format is a pain with these mini pcs. They also can't find linux distro drivers in many cases and your bluetooth and wifi and cooling fan for example won't work at all. I suggest don't mess with the OS and at least dualboot or USB boot to try it to make sure it all works before formatting the installed OS and drivers. These are cheaply made and don't expect the fan to last many years like your Dell. The brands I didn't mention might use worse memory and SSD parts that fail fast. For value a person can find a laptop sale with the same hardware for a similar or cheaper price. I find the best use for these is a small footprint that can output to a big high quality monitor unlike the dirt cheap laptops that are less ergonomic to use your own bluetooth mouse keyboard and screens.
I strongly disagree re: support for Linux - popular distros like Ubuntu and Mint. Check reviews on Amazon to confirm that there are no issues. No intervention - hunting around for Linux drivers should be necessary.
As far as SSD and memory. quality should be fine but back up often. It's in their interest to provide decent components. My GMKtec has very good memory and SSD. I wouldn't use a mini pc for mission critical needs unless there's a backup device that can be used. For Linux, if the hardware fails - power supply, motherboard, etc. just pop the SSD into another computer - Intel or AMD, and it will work well enough until you get things sorted out. Also, as someone mentioned, stick with the three most popular Chinese brands. Order direct or from Aliexpress if you need a configuration, such as barebone, that isn't available from Amazon. I use Ubuntu only, but did log into Windows to get the Windows key. Dual boots are a headache.

There was never anything really proven. They just hypothesized that if you can't change the default search engine, what else is being done that you don't know about.AceMagician responded to this by saying that they were not the ones that installed the software. I think it's always best to just format, get drivers, and start over
But get the Windows license key BEFORE re-installing Windows! This Mini PC will also run popular Linux distros flawlessly.
