i ditched my prebuilt desktop. had built my own for 30 yrs. ditched a lot of clutter, wires, power strip etc. all i really do is websurf anyway. so i just dont need a gpu, a lot of storage or even a overbuilt pc. i believe you can add ram, a m.2 ssd if you want. i plugged a external 512 sata ssd in via a usb enclosure and that works well. mainly because i like the 2 drives system. one windows drive, one data drive. it makes reinstalling windows very easy. there is even room to put a internal sata ssd in it, but i have not bothered.
originally i screwed it to the back of my monitors vesa mounts. now my new monitor's vesa mounts are occupied by its stand, so i just set it on my desk. that's fine too, bit easier access to usb ports etc.
i dont know why you'd buy anything else pre made unless you are a gamer, the prices are unreal.
i can game some on mine if i wanted, destiny 2 runs 720p lowest at about 45 fps. very playable whereas yrs ago my i5660k igp would only get 15-20 (i sold my gpu back then in height of crypto craze since i never used it). i'm sure stuff like rocket league, minecraft runs great. this is just a curiosity to me but i guess its nice that you could play a little.
i you are super worried about the windows install, i would get a gray market windows key somewhere or like 20-30, and download a clean install straight from ms. that was my original plan but i ended up not bothering.
also these are very very quiet which is big for me. they can make a little fan whine at times, but realistically essentially nonexistent.
so yeah these things are kind of unreal value. i know they typically have perfectly serviceable n100 8gb ones for 140, and i keep meaning to get one for the hell of it at that price. could be a security cam pc, kitchen pc, game emulation, travel, what have you.
so yeah ordered mine in february, and the more trouble free days go by the more pleased i am. it's kind of a gamechanger and assuming i dont ever become a pc gamer again, I might well never build another PC. for ~230 out the door it's crazy.
in theory you could also move it around easily. in practice i havent since mine just stays at home. but if i traveled or moved often this aspect could be incredible as well.
Oh, one other legitimate thing to think about with these, is you may be getting some off brand chinese garbo SSD inside. Again because I use the 2 SSD, Windows/data system, nothing on my internal is mission critical anyway. i guess you could replace it if you wanted, but that would add to the cost (though not much with SSD pricing). i honestly forgot about it and mines worked fine. i'm not trying to set ssd speed records. i guess i should crack it open and investigate if whatever ssd is in mine is considered kosher, or maybe i did already i forgot lol. i'm guessing as beelink is sort of "reputable" in this space, it's probably ok. maybe another commenter can speak to this.
other issue i was worried about when i made the leap is what if it just dies on me. at least with a prebuilt i can isolate the failed component and replace that. altho maybe you can with this too idk. with each passing day this becomes less a concern though, honestly for the price it probably becomes worth it regardless at like the 2 yr mark, though i'm sure i'd still be mad if it stopped then. i dont expect it too.

however for sure, you should download the Windows installation from Microsoft, and install the fresh Windows. Incase you need a key, contact the seller to get one

I have a previous version (SER 5 - Ryzen 7 5800H), it only has USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and I can use 1 USB-C cable to connect the portable monitor without any extra power for the monitor
Because newer CPU, stronger CPU (Ryzen 7), stronger VGA (680M) and more RAM (24GB). and the mini PC has to share the RAM with VGA (at least 2GB).

i dunno but i have something similar, ryzen 5 5650 u 16gb, 512 ssd and have loved it. beelink brand. paid something like 220. no real issues so far. i was worried at one point about some random slowdowns, but it turned out to be adblock. which i reinstalled and fixed that.
