Erm, none of their running shoes that people actually want. No Triumphs, no Endorphin Speeds, no Endorphin Pros, no Endorphin Elites.

I replaced my Triumph 20 with the Ride 17, and they feel great. Depending on your views on whether wearing flag-themed apparel is disrespectful, $80 is a deal.

See above. The Ride 17 is a nice trainer, and has a smaller drop than the Triumph line (8mm vs. 10mm), which is a good thing. This article says the Ride 17 could have just been called the Triumph 21.5: https://believeintherun.com/shoe-...17-review/

Yeah, but you can get Rides and even on a unicorn occasions, Triumphs at places like DSW. I think I got the prior season's Ride for maybe $20-25. Not biting at $80. They are definitely good shoes, but not for that price point IMO.

That said, I typically always stick in the Endo line with Saucony.

I take it you're more of a high-mileage guy? Plated shoes are definitely worthwhile for some, but for most people on SD, buying a $250 pair for daily training would be like getting a $500 Metabo impact driver to assemble flat-pack furniture...not that I'm guilty of having done anything completely analogous to that. πŸ˜†

Say, what happened to those DSW running shoe threads? Seems like it's been a while since I've seen one. I've come to terms with the fact that they don't hold track or cross country meets for people my age, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a decent deal on something for road races.

Haha! I am, yes. But when I see the price drop at (mainly) DSW and even sites like Amazon and other running retailers, I point my friends and family who are more casual runners there. I see they are only discounting the Guide right now and not at a great price. For the moment, $80 at the current model is a good price.

From how it typically plays out, as Sauc rolls out the next line, they will dump excess inventory to wholesalers, then they will want to move the product, so they will keep discounting. It's all about timing.

Those DSW low prices have not happened for a while. Judging by current events such as dock worker strike, they are likely not going to be coming around for a bit yet. $80 ($70 if you buy multiple) may be the best deal going for a bit and seems to be the price they have been when on sale/clearance for the past year or so. Not to mention the πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ shoes would look great on the 4th or other such days.

Meh..this dock strike has become such a hype train of noise. People clearing off shelves of toilet paper (which is made in the US, funny enough) and panic buying like idiots. That noise aside, this is on existing inventory anyway. Big sales haven't happened in a while as we are between releases. Ride 18 will likely drop in JAN, just like previous ones, so as the date gets closer, the company will dump inventory and wholesalers/resellers will buy up and drop accordingly, especially going into holiday.

I just picked up an Endorphin Speed 3 off Amazon for $90. Deals are to be had, you just need to look around.

If you are comfortable paying $80 for a decent shoe, go ahead, but if you don't need new shoes right away and can wait, the prices will drop as the next line approaches. Been this way since forever.
