"Obsolete" is a ridiculous way of putting it. This monitor will be fine in a decade.

Rtngs considers this one of the best 144hz 1440p monitors and at this price it is in a great spot. Biggest con seems to be low contrast in darker rooms leads to gray looking blacks

have an older Dell S2716DG. [displayspecifications.com] I assume this monitor is a huge upgrade? any advice is appreciated.

Even the dell G2724d is an upgrade. i noticed an big improvement in FPS game motion blur
