Note that the previous thread on this has a massive amount of technical discussion about practically every aspect of this router and detailed setup instructions etc. If looking for answers, I'd start with a search in that thread (terms like OpenWRT, DD-WRT, stock, CA, mesh, USB, throughput, wired, backhaul, bricked, etc). That may be a good start for those new to it, as it probably already answers a lot of questions that are sure to crop up.

Also, here's a link to some of the basic support docs for it from the Linksys site …

Is there a way I can order multiple for this price ? I do need a mesh. I only realized that the coupon is once per user. Should have started stocking this since the previous deal.

the question still there: why Linksys keeps dumping this wonderful wifi6 router at such low price? Believe they knew something they don't want us to know 😂

Same answer as previous threads. If you share your amazon benefits via your amazon household each account should be able to order one with the coupon and get free shipping to get the $15 price.

I ordered and it said shipping Oct 14. So be prepared to wait or you can take a chance and see if Amazon sells them again.

I haven't been following it closely but there seemed to be a lot of interest in this router in the OpenWRT and DDWRT communities, along with working beta's. It seems likely the official support will come to one or both of those sooner or later. As many of these as they seem to be offloading at a cheap price I suspect this will end up like the ASUS T-Mobile routers and will be very popular for a long time in the enthusiast circles. In previous threads there were a number of people finally replacing those Asus T-Mobile routers with these routers.
Haha, replace T-Mobile Asus? You are talking about what exactly I am going to do. The router has better good signal than my Aruba AP.

The answer seems to be the obvious. Fortinet thought they could make $$$ of selling these to businesses but the plan fell through completely. That left them with lots of stock they couldn't move so they are unloading it. Not sure if it's Linksys or Fortinet that's taking the loss on these but somebody is as the sale prices on these have to barely be covering shipping let alone the actual cost of manufacturing etc.

Is it true that the USB port on the back of the router is not usable? I like to plug a hard drive into it that contains my movies so I can stream them upstairs.

Same.

Got my first. Was going to get a 2nd through Amazon but glad I waited. Got my 2nd here and planning on setting up a mesh using stock firmware to cover my house. It should be more than enough to replace my RAX 3600.

From a previous post:
Quote :
How to enable mesh:

Setup your Main router completely.
Plug your child node using the wan port to the main router lan port, wait for a solid purple light on the child node before proceeding.
Log into your main router web admin.
Click on CA at the bottom right.
Click on Connectivity and CA Router setup.
Click on both Add Wired and Add Wireless nodes buttons. Wait for the Add wireless button to re-enable.
Click Done adding Child Nodes and then Apply.
Now the child node light should start flashing purple and turn into a mesh mode when it turns blue.
Disconnect Ethernet and wait for blue light again.
Move node to desired location.

How to set up as access point:

Disable DHCP (optional).
Set the device to Bridge Mode under Connectivity tab.
Connect cable from your router to a LAN port.
Get some nail polish and a round sticker to cover the annoying flashing right light.
Click the 'AC' at the bottom of the page to see the detailed configurations of wifi.
Only thing I'll add is that I had to reboot the child node after the steps,

and then repeat those steps one more time. Got a 3 node wireless mesh working and a 4 node mixed wired and wireless mesh working.

Unusable on the stock firmware. It works if you install openwrt or ddwrt.

Can I get two and use one as main router and the other as a mesh node?
Yes. Refere previous FP deals for detailed instructions. It's very simple. I have 4. 1 as main and the other 3 as child

That's a total of 2. Is there a way to get 3?
