Not too sure on this one. This is an older model and the holidays are coming up. Given the wait time, it might make sense to see what holiday deals show up for the dcf840 at Lowe's. If you don't need the battery, the DCF845 is regularly on sale for $70-90 on woot which would definitely be a more bang for your buck. Otherwise, Milwaukee has this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwa.../325480442
which is a newer and nicer impact driver for $10 more (with battery, charger, and bag also) and you don't have to wait 1-2 months.

Agree that if you need a battery/charger, this is a good deal.
I have a couple different models of this and love how compact and useful they are.
If you have adequate batteries and chargers, I'd wait for a tool only deal.

If you don't already have a system, then weighing any other brands is where SD is great - search to see what items go on sale for the brand you're interested in Smilie

Is this Max or XR. Page is confusing as it has both pictures and references.

Max is brushed motor while the XR is brushless and more powerful

I just put mine to work in a power test. Driving 8" long 1/2" lag bolts into ceader. 2A battery needed to be swapped after 1.5 bolts. The thing was near melting after 2 bolts it was burning hot.

This is 20v Brushless I believe. Not XR, so not top of the line, but not brushed either. Prior gen mid level. I believe that this is probably comparable to the dcf809 (1st Gen atomic impact) though someone may be able too correct me on that.

Been waiting for the DCF850 to show up in a home depot hack for months but man it has not shown up. For recently deals, this is pretty solid.

It's the 787. I've had mine 5 years and done everything with it. Built several things, like a shed. I also got the brushless 12V for size. I got an atomic brushless as well I haven't opened yet. I paid $82 for this as a bare tool on eBay. Sold it for that when I found the other one.
