Why are these always labeled "Refurbished" they are just USED drives that were tested good enough for resale.

**Edit my bad** These particular one's are "Factory Recertified" and have there hour meter "Re-Zeroed"

Bought 2 of these last week, got them about 2 days later. Tested with HD Sentinel. No bad blocks and 100% healthy. DoM was Jan 2023. Running pretty quiet in my NAS.

Good call! I also happened to have a 10% off coupon being offered on the actual product page. The coupon is definitely YMMV.

Quiet? Using this in a NAS and it sounds at times like a woodpecker pounding away at sheet metal. Maybe its the hollowness of the NAS casing. But I have a different Seagate helium filled drive, the Skyhawk, in a PC and its also loud. Maybe its Seagate. Luckily I use these in a business and the ambient noise muffles the sound. In a quite moment, you can hear the Exos pounding away.

I don't hear any pounding with mine. I have them in my synology on the table next to my desktop. During normal use or idle it's quiet for me. Only gets loud when data scrubbing.

Surely that's like clocking an old car... I'd want to know the mileage on the engine 🤣

Maybe that be the reason. I don't know the NAS box too well except it be noisy.
