I've had one of these for over a year and absolutely love the thing. As others stated the cable detection isn't great. To add to minor complaints - the mop pads don't lift up quite high enough so floor rugs and stuff can be a challenge for the vacuum, sometimes getting snagged under the mop pads and causing them to pop off. Doesn't cause any harm but does stop the cycle.

You can buy consumables and repair parts readily on Aliexpress - including detergent. They do sell bulk detergent for a different Dreame vacuum and the bottles for this one are "not refillable" but do have a simple pushed in plug on a hole. Refilling them with the bulk bottle works just fine.

If I have a major complaint it's that I wish the water and sewage hook-up kit wasn't so expensive relative to the vacuum. I can't find it for less than $100.
Could you post a link to the hook up kit for $100

Thanks

i would not pay too much attention to the 960 MSRP in your decision making process. They did something similar with refurb L20 recently listing it at 1500 and sale price of 560. You can see its true price as 660 currently, so it was just 100 off on the refurb. So I suspect the regular price of this refurb unit is perhaps in the 460 range. But it might be a good robot for you.

So they have 3 machines on this sale… the L10, L20 and X30. Can anyone comment on the others? From what I can tell if you have some thick rug transition the other 2 models would be better.

Wow, I didn't know open source fws existed even for robot vacuums. This is awesome, thanks!
I pulled the trigger when I saw this. I used it on my roborock and it's amazing. No app needed all web based. No pinging China servers.

I looked at all three, and ended up picking the L20, and yeah lift height for the mop was listed as 10.5mm for L20 & X30 vs. 7mm for the L10s, but saw that effectively there wasn't much difference. I guess the bigger difference is the L20 & X30 have the magnetic "leave mop at station when vacuuming rugs" feature so you can be sure that the rugs don't get smudged with wet mop pads. Personally I picked the L20 for the extra $160 it costs over the L10s (after the discounts on both) because of the swing mop feature to get wall edges which is my biggest complaint with the Q Revo... it isn't great at cleaning the edges of floors. There were other differences that added up to swaying me, but that was the big one. That said, it was $575 after tax for the L20 which has me questioning myself, that is a lot to spend for yet ANOTHER robot vac. The L20 is the third for the house, the first two being:

1) an "ECOVACS DEEBOT N8+" for $225 including 3 yr extended warranty from Walmart slick deal. This one can't do mopping and vacuuming at the same time, you have to remove the mop for it to vacuum, and it doesn't have the auto mop washing, etc. station, which basically makes it suck for anything other than mopping small, only slightly dirty hard floors unless you really want to baby sit it. That said, for the $$ it was a great deal because the vacuuming works great, so I have it assigned to half of the first floor that is mostly carpet/hard floor that doesn't need mopping often. Because of how great it keeps that half of the house we got hooked, so next we got

2) Q Revo for $600 including 3 yr extended warranty from Home Depot, which is assigned to the rest of the first floor, including white tile entry way, wood dining room with big area rug, and white tiled kitchen and breakfast area with a few small rugs that all get dirty fast and need lots of sweeping and mopping, and it works great for that! Being able to mop and vacuum all in one go without baby sitting, and having the mop autowash frequently is AWESOME, so it isn't smearing around dirty pads after a few minutes like the DEEBOT N8+ is VERY worth it! It would be nice to not have to fill/empty the water tanks every few cleanings, but that is still WAY better than not having autowash at all!

I will probably test the L20s in our basement where our TV room, game room, and my WFH office is, which is lots of white tile and a few large area rugs. I am here every day for like 12 hrs during the day with the mini lab retriever that sheds roughly 100 lbs of hair a week, so the floor needs a lot of cleaning, both vacuuming and mopping. If the l20s can keep up with it down here it will be VERY worth it vs. the few hours a week I spend vacuuming and mopping, where even then hair is everywhere like 8 hrs after I finish vacuuming. Side note... I tried aggressive grooming of the dog... he just grows all the hair back and sheds just as badly in like 3 weeks, I think he is a mutant. If this l20s can solve our problem by running every day, it will have been worth twice as much!

So I will be able to post in a month or so how this L20s compares to the two I have at least.

How hard is it to get replacement parts for this? I have a Samsung Jet Bot+ and it's impossible to find replacement parts. I hate the thing.
Pretty easy via Aliexpress.

I have a Dreame X30 and bought a pack of replacement parts from Aliexpress, and they were all high quality replacements that were very similar to the originals. No doubt they aren't original, but they were equivalent quality and WAY cheaper than getting from the manufacturer directly.

I wouldn't have normally trusted Aliexpress for quality replacement parts, but most people on Reddit (/r/dreame_tech subreddit) recommend using Aliexpress over Amazon or other places.

Make sure to sort the search results by most purchases. You can check reviews to find which ones are well reviewed.

Can you comment on the X30? I see that is on a deal as well granted several hundred more than the L10 model. Worth it?

Sure. The X30 is great, but I'd probably try to look for sales on the Roborock Q-Revo Master over a Dreame X30 if you're looking in the upper price range. That model has all the features of the X30, plus an extendable corner brush that helps to get debris in the corners too. I also think Roborock's app is a little better than Dreame's. Having owned a Roborock S7+ and a Dreame X30, it's very clear that the two companies share a parent company (Xiaomi) due to how many things in their apps are similar.

The biggest benefits the X30 has over the L10s are an extending mop pad, a self-cleaning mop tray, auto-removable mop pads, higher max suction (this is a gimmick), automatic detergent dispensing, and a dirt sensor when cleaning the mop pads.

The extending mop pad will ensure that the floors close to the baseboards get cleaned. So, it automates a bit more of the cleaning routine so that you don't have to go around and clean that yourself.

Regarding the self-cleaning mop tray, both the L10s and X30 will wash and dry the mop pads and refill the clean water. However, the tray that the mop pads are washed in needs to be removed and manually cleaned out on the L10s. The X30's mop cleaning tray has a squeegee system that rinses and cleans the tray automatically, which further automates things.

The X30's auto-removable mop pads give you the option to leave the mop pads behind at the dock, so if you have any high-pile carpet or rugs, there is no risk of them getting wet. Or you could just tell the X30 to raise the mop pads when it senses carpet/rugs. The L10s only has the option to raise the mop pads.

The higher max suction is likely to make very little difference to the cleaning result for most people. Usually people don't run the vacuum on max suction anyway, unless they like buying lithium batteries once a year. If your carpets get a lot of pet hair or deep debris, maybe this makes a difference for you.

The automatic detergent dispensing is something I'm not sold on either. It uses so little detergent (from concentrate) that I'm not sure it makes a difference. I believe it uses it when cleaning the mop pads, but I've seen conflicting answers online about whether the detergent is used to clean the floors too. Either way, I don't notice any smells on my floors after mopping, so it's not like it's freshening up my house. I might not notice a difference if a vacuum didn't have this.

The dirt sensor in the vacuum base can detect if the mop pads were excessively dirty, and it can signal the vacuum to re-clean the area it just cleaned. Might be useful to some people, but I haven't noticed a benefit from it yet.

Here's more on the X30 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QuBp-8TZHg

You'll have to ask yourself if those features I mentioned justify 2-3x the price. For most people, they probably don't. I think the L10s at $359 is a sweet spot for the average person, while the most lazy person might appreciate the extra features I paid for.

For that high-end (super lazy) buyer, they might also want to look at the brand new Roborock Q-Revo Curv ($1300-$1500). It has all the same features I've already mentioned, but it also has some extra features to avoid tangled hair on the side brush and brush roller, as well as a way for it to adjust the vacuum's height to clear obstacles or flooring transitions that are like an inch or taller. Someone with shag carpet might also benefit from this height adjustment since shag carpet will pretty much suffocate other robot vacuums and result in them getting stuck.

How well do these things work when it comes to cat vomit? I've got 2 cats with IBD and vomit is basically guaranteed weekly. Will this thing smear it around? Avoid it? Clean it modestly well?

Got one of these for $400 a while back and is rock solid, low maintenance, rarely gets stuck or doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Such an upgrade from Roomba.

Would buy another but already got 2 L20s for the other floors when they were on sale previously.

Oh hey I can give you an exact experience on this. I've got 2 cats that output 1 vomit weekly.

In the 4 months I've had this, it has done wonders for the cat hair, but also had one incident where it got a direct hit on a hairball in vomit. The vacuum failed to avoid it, and ended up smearing it around the kitchen for a few feet, and then sucked the hairball into itself. It took me about 15 minutes to clean the vacuum out and manually wipe the dried on smear from the kitchen floors (I sent the vacuum out to mop the area 3 times, but it wasn't able to clean the area completely). It also regularly sucks up cables and cat toys that I've forgotten to clean up, and needs rescue.

So, not great at the obstacle avoidance, but overall still a win in terms of the amount of cat hair and litter scatter around the place. That kind of stuff I used to have to vacuum once or twice weekly for. Now I only vacuum once a month to get the sides and corners of the house, where it tends to miss. It mops minor things just fine, for example if you splash some minor stuff in the kitchen while cooking. But won't handle actual large messes.
