So you've read it?

Funny, cause I have. And by the sound of, you should.

You're welcome.
He founded a company that at least for some time was the largest company in the world. Even the most skeptical of people would consider him to know a thing or two about leadership perseverance and success. Right?
The NVidia CEO Huang told Stanford students that they should have low expectations, and that he wishes them "ample doses of pain and suffering". He believes that resilience is the most important skill for success, and that it comes from real-world experience, including suffering and obstacles.

The kind of book where the title is the only takeaway.

Discomfort elevates stress/cortisol. Elevated lvls of cortisol is very bad for your body
Correct, and ignoring it or using technology or substances to try to eliminate it just makes it worse. You have to recognize and embrace discomfort in order to move through life in a healthy way.

Man, lot of hate for this title. I listened to it on Spotify, I thought it was a pretty solid use of time. He explains research and conversations throughout the book, overlaid on his story of an elk hunt in Alaska. Parts of it felt a little formulaic but I had some solid takeaways.

This is one of the better books I've read in recent history. This is a fantastic deal for anyone interested in self-improvement/wellness. A lot of interesting anecdotes and he backs up most of what he recommends with fascinating research. I haven't discussed with anyone who has read it who hasn't thought highly of it.

So my general rule is you need to sift through 95% tired anecdotes and blabberish to get to 5% useful stuff. This feels like it is going to be 100% blabberish.
