One of my printers is a KE, and it's pretty great.
You probably still have to tinker but not as much as something like an ender 3 pro. But don't expect the quality/consistency of Bambu.
The great feature this machine has is Auto Z-offset. This should eliminate the need for frequent tinkering if you get a good working machine.
With that said, keep in mind this is a refurbished machine as well...

The person selling this product has a Warning by Fakespot Guard, because:

There are few reviews mentioning "Scam", "Fake tracking number", or questioning product authenticity.
There is a spike of negative reviews in the last month.
My .02 is that I got a V3 SE for Christmas last year at $180 and have been printing almost everyday since then. 95% print success rate and it's been awesome as a plug & play. However, I did spend some time understanding the basic adjustments (speed/temperature/etc) that enables me to 'help' the printer when needed, but no physical tinkering required like the earlier Enders and the auto-leveling is perfect. I print in PLA and PETG constantly with builds small and large (8-12"+).
Well worth the money IMO and I have no desire to get a Bambu because of this reason.

Once you do these three things along with tuning the printer using the instructions from this excellent site: https://teachingtechyt.
With that said I sold my upgraded SE and bought a KE and like it better simply because of the built in web interface. I put the printer on a remotely controllable plug so I can power it on, connect to the web interface, start it heating, transfer a file to it, and then go into the basement to load the filament and start a print. It saves me time and the extra cost of the KE was worth it to me. I also added a camera to the KE (plug and play) so I can monitor the print. You can do the same with a raspberry pi with the SE but I didn't want to go through that. Found a deal on the KE on eBay refurbished for $179. Still had to do some minor upgrades but it's a better printer overall. But again if you are looking to get started the SE is still a good printer once it's setup.
