Crescent probably has better quality than HF but no skips in HF.
I bought the HF because I prefer 6 point over splice. The HF sockets also fit in any 19mm wrench like a box end or open end. The Crescent set can't do that.
It works on Spline Bolts.

It works on damaged, rounded bolts (really grippy).

It grips better than 12pt

(Spline can put marks in chrome fasteners, so don't use it on fancy bolts)

If you only have a single socket set, then pass-through is a really nice way to go.

It's a good price, but also a repost of this deal from a few days ago (now marked expired):

A dozen people are about to post links to other sets

None of those sets will have the key features of the OPs set.

Not pass through

Not spline drive

Not thin head

Why is spline drive superior to anything else? 6-point, as mentioned above, seems like a logical choice since you'd have the ability to use other wrenches without losing any functionality.

$25 HF set is a pass thru type which I like for its compatible with a standard extension (holding me back on OPs product), as well as the sockets fitting a 19mm wrench as a poster mentioned. But, I like OP's as it is a better brand, includes a fastener adapter. Can't we have both worlds for $20?

I think spline works well on both 6 & 12 point, while OP's providing only 5 degree turn

May or may not be superior, but if you run into a spline head bolt such as my Jeep, nothing else will work, spent $7 on a single socket because I didn't yet own this.

I got this the first time posted. For $20
It's a damn good set to have. Also in a shop environment we personally do not have a lot of 12 pt stuff. However after getting this for $20 basically any normal sized 12 pt nut we ever run into this will have us covered!

These look like a good deal for the infrequent odd ball jobs. I bought 2 as gifts. 1 is for me.

Oh, oh, It includes a 10mm socket!

Its an awesome set! I got it in and was testing all of the parts. Only issue I had was that the socket adapter bit take a lot of effort to remove. Besides that, its worked well. Awesome performance for a 20 dollar tool.

Okay, thanks. I was thinking more about the ratchet than the sockets, because I'm almost 50 and I don't think I've ever touched a spline bolt. For me, 6-point is best, and being able to use a normal wrench on the sockets when I lose or break the odd included one is more important. Hard to argue with a $20 price though, so I might grab one, even though I have plenty of sockets and ratchets.
