wish would be that simple

1 year older tech gives double the battery, extra GPS receiver , 2 extra microphone array with beamforming and wind noise mitigation, S10 SiP vs S9 SiP (Apple does not claim major performance gains with the S10 chip), MIL-STD 810H standard which helps protect the watch from scratches, nicks At the end of the day is about money.. I purchased a brand new AWU2 for $550 shipped and a used one but clean for $350 ( one of the watches came with a brand new nomad $100 band)...AW10 would be counterintuitive purchase in my case

I wouldn't go back to a normal Apple watch from an Ultra, it's a great form factor if you don't have smaller wrists. I would also wait until next year to buy since it'll probably get the next hardware revision then. I imagine we'll see big discounts on these by next March.

And FFS Apple, let me bluetooth my heart rate from these to my Garmin cycling computer. Go EU!

I have Ultra 2 & it last about 30 hrs of use with no workout & about 18 hrs with workout.
