I bought and returned this at $75. The audio quality was terrible. Even using an external amp, the audio quality was disappointing.

It has gone the way of Old School Pioneer. It's just the name now, the products are junk.

*** By the end of 1990s, Nakamichi failed to transition properly. In 1998, it was acquired by Grande Holdings, a Chinese company based in Hong Kong. Grande Holdings included electronics companies Akai and Sansui. Niro Nakamichi left in 1998 to set up Mechanical Research Corporation***

That was before the Nakamichi tower came down.

I know in my Mazda hooking up my cars phone to the stereo was a pain. I couldn't do it without just using a USB cord. Never would work wirelessly with android auto

Exactly this. Happy with my XAV-AX1000

I don't have CarPlay in my bmw but would like to see and work with it . ? Any thoughts. I hope if that could work without the need to remove or change your existing display and this can work as an auxiliary display device??
No, BMWs are integrated directly with the CCC or CIC. You should look into a piggyback MMI which branches off the CID display and you can toggle between the stock and new MMI using the menu button. If you take out the CCC or CIC, youll have a lot of coding to do.

Android Auto started to work for me when I switched to my original Samsung charging cable.
Same. Use a good USB cable and no issues. Sound quality isn't terrible. But isn't good either.

No good. I bought it and it sounded bad. Even worse than my $40 boss stereo my old car came with. Carplay worked fine. Backup camera worked great. If you don't care what things sounds like, buy this. I returned it

Back when my friends and I used to see how loud we could get 2V inputs were on the trash end of head units. But it might be fine for someone that just wants something that plays music. I'd get this if I were selling my car and I misplaced my factory unit

This is a "beater" car upgrade imo. I wouldn't think I'd be able to use my steering wheel controls on my '06 4Runner though.

CarPlay only works on the front usb port.
My kid is using this cable with it, makes it work perfectly with the front.. also facing the right direction (down) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BRFZW7NH/

He's been using the head unit & CD for about 3 months with no issues. Pretty good value when replacing an old malfunctioning stock head unit in a Toyota Matrix.

Hope this helps some!
