This isn't bad for the Echo show, but Blink cameras are just trash. In my experience they are good at capturing spider webs and neighborhood cats, but when some teenagers egg your house it doesn't work.

Moved to Tapo cameras with built-in AI detection, I now get notifications on humans but "pets" are recorded but don't trigger a notification. Also integrates with Echo show to view live feeds.

avoid blink unless you plan on paying subscription just to watch live stream for longer than 15 seconds. Ring lets you view live stream for free.

On a more serious note, Ring gives Police direct access to your feed and Blink doesn't. But that could be an illusion too, considering Bezos' CIA funding.
This is no longer true and the feature was removed back in January 2024.

I have not had the best experience with Blink. I have four. The cameras either alert me every 2 minutes if the wind is blowing or don't alert at all even if I'm standing in my back yard and waving at it half the time. I have 2 Sync modules that both quit recording after a time. They worked when set up, but mysteriously stopped, never to work again. The second after about a week. Blink was absolutely no help at all and I am NOT giving them a hundred bucks a year for recording on a camera that only works half the time. I love the battery life, which is why I tried them to begin with, but that's about it.

Great deal

I've liked my Blink doorbell I got from a similar deal

No subscription, the sync module works like a charm

This might be a dumb question… but can I use this as a baby monitor?

Just my 2 cents. Previously owned Blink XT and the Blink 4. You can grab cables that can charge the cameras without having to use batteries. Also you can have multiple setups in the Blink App. I had #2 sync modules (monitor inside and out cameras easier). A friendly budget camera system to get your feet wet.
The first thing I quickly learned...these are not continuous recording. When you want to Live view a camera, it only allows for a little before it asks to continue or stop. The image quality over the years improved from camera to camera, but a deal breaker for me when I realized only 1 camera can record at a time. Even with #2 sync modules. $10/month unlimited devices/$100 a year subscription or $3/month 1 device/ $30 yearly subscription.
Switching to an NVR system was more for me up front, but for how long I've used Blink,1 year of subscription pays off 2 of my cameras. Depending on which system you get, I have more flexibility. 1 example, I am able to view video feed on any streaming device whereas Blink you could only easily view with an amazon device (FireTV, Echo Show) or on iOS Blink app.

This is just flat out untrue. I am in the blink ecosystem and while yes - blink isn't perfect by any means, but I can definitely view live stream for longer than 15 seconds and I do not subscribe to their plan. My videos automatically save into my USB drive that I've plugged in the sync module.

This is my concern as well. Is this not planned obsolescence for these cameras?

Is the Gen4 cameras faster than the Gen2? The Gen2 has a bad lag of about 7-10 seconds.

I tried trading in my current Echo Show 5 gen 2 (it sucks at picking up our voices), but while they gave me the $20 gift card immediately to use, the 20% discount won't apply until they get the trade in and approve it. With the October Prime Days coming up, do we think this deal will last for a week? It's only worth it to me if I actually get a new Show 5 and the Blink camera as I've been wanting to add another and the Blink camera alone is $40 right now.

Edit: further review of their terms indicate the 20% should be credited once they receive the device, and another CS rep confirmed that. screenshotted just in case.

Own Gen2 blink for over 4 years. Was the Best technology on the market and I think still is. Installation 3 mins for each, no wires, adjustable motion, scheduling, communication via cameras, quality is of video is pretty good. Battery last for years, I think I changed batteries two times this is for two cameras out of 8 I have.
I am sure there are more expensive choices, but for the price / quality combination, Blink is unbearable!

Same feedback. I don't have the Blink 4 though.

The older Blink cameras all have a crazy background noise that I don't get with any of my other cameras. You'd think they could fix that with a software update.

Hope they fixed it with the newer Blinks.

I'm all Tapo on indoor cameras now, but thinking about adding some Reolinks for the property

Yes. Should work just fine. Just setup the camera settings appropriately and it should work great
