Well I bought a similar product few years ago and stopped using it after just couple of months. The reason is, when you drive in the morning or in the afternoon and may have a commute time around 30-40 minutes depending on the traffic, the sun hits directly at your phone and makes the phone very hot. My iPhone frequently showed the "iphone needs to cool down before you can use it" message. I still have it installed and it still hasn't melted as the quality was really good but I don't want to sacrifice my phone battery so don't use it anymore.

Get one that attaches to the air vent. The a/c keeps the battery from overheating

Anybody have real life experience with this holder? I'm in fl and it's 95 degree outside so it's almost 150-200 inside and other mounts just pretty much melt

Every phone holder I've tried does this. I would like a phone holder that shades and insulates the phone from the sun beating down through the windshield. Until that happens my phone goes to into a cubby below my radio. I usually have enough crap behind it to keep the phone stood up so I can see my directions.
