I have an LG refrigerator, bought 2009, 15 years already still going strong. U do need to change water filter once every six months, but I changed once a year and have no problem 😀

Almost bit till I saw it was this style. I rather have the freezer drawer style with the 2 fridge doors up top. I find myself never lookimg at the bottom half of the refrigerator cuz im lazy and the freezer gets real cramp. My experience not saying it's bad. Just saying I won't be buying this style ever again.

Agreed. I asked a repairman once and he said he could make his living just off of replacing compressors in LG and Samsung refrigerators. Also there is numerous class action lawsuits on Samsungs here is one...

Appliance subreddit [reddit.com] says this should have a different compressor which is the big problem with them in the past.

Have a LG Linear compressor, which has a 7 yr warranty and of course our compressor died 7 years and 1 week on the dot. The good thing is they have a one price all inclusive service ~$450 which was actually reasonable compared to having someone else come in to diagnose and replace compressor etc. Fridge otherwise has given 0 issues.

I looked at a bunch of LG's and almost bought one a couple times - very attractive and feature-packed, and you see some really nice discounts from time to time. Couldn't pull the trigger though because of the horror stories online, and my sister had a fancy one that was a complete nightmare. Some people are very happy with LG, and it isn't like they don't sell plenty, but I was afraid I'd just be waiting for it to die.

We wanted counter depth with in-door dispensers so that meant limited options. Ended up getting a Frigidaire Gallery french door that has a pull-out drawer between the freezer and main fridge. Loving it so far. With Costco's Labor Day sales and discounts I basically got a really nice GE dishwasher for free, compared to everyone else's prices. Went from side-by-side to French door and glad I did.

Same ours (older cousin of this model side by side) was manufactured March 2004 with linear compressor. Was our main fridge in our 1st home for 9 years. Been living in the garage of our current home and still going strong.

LG Dryer is also 20 years old and never been touched by a repairman. Washer is 10. No problems

LG and Samsung definitely don't last for more than 3 years. I have a 2 yr old LG just called service couple of weeks ago. If ur gonna buy one. BUY one from Costco with the 4 year warranty. YOURE gonna need it 😂

Lots of negativity about compressors. I researched this before buying an LG and found the compressors have small U-shaped cooling coils(smaller than old school fridge coils) that people neglect to clean. Dust builds up and the compressors overheat...BOOM! complaints. I clean mine with a vacuum every 6 months and no issues after 5 years. Like most complaints I see online its "user error" and they never read directions or perform regular maintenance.
