I just did one so I can trade it in for $155 Apple GC. I still had 6 days left on account on my previous 2 x iPhone12 from MetroPCS deal. Just added the third line for $35 plus $3 paid to GoogleVoice for a new number port out.
I tried to setup another GoogleVoice using a different gmail but now it won't let me assign another number.
All those other carrier deals offering steep discount on iPhone 16 series are always in forms of bill credit over 24-36 months which really sucks, phone being locked to that carrier making it even worse.
I realized to get an unlocked iPhone Pro Max next year, I will have to buy from Apple directly without any discount so I'm collecting Apple GCs for now.
Port out account number is the Google Voice phone number without the country code.

Tried to make a new order, same thing. Now on the phone again trying to get the port in cancelled. I'm going to call to make the order next and if that doesn't work I'm done. Not worth wasting more hours to get a 12 to trade into ATT for a 16 pro. Can just buy other phones that trade in for $1000 at ATT, just more than $75 or in my case since I'm adding a line $35.
It got even worse: Called to try and make the order. Rep says the phone isn't free with a port in only a new number. Noooo, it's free only with the port in. Back and forth. Hang up. Call again. Different rep. Sorry we cannot add lines over the phone.
