I think this cat toy was built for humans.

I like the laser pointer.

The other, less magnificent feline that I graciously permit to live with me prefers a feathered teaser - it spins in the air a bit like it's flying.

But just a solid ball of fluff? I don't see either of us going for that one. Cupcakes are for lesser beings like humans.

Humans are the buyers, so it has to appeal to the them. It's just good business.

Such great business that they had to mark it down to $2.50. Go ahead, buy one - I suppose they'd be nice hanging into the baby's crib.

But, I suppose you are right. The best toys are mouses, but my human absolutely refuses to buy them for me. She even freaks out when I find one on my own. Humans be strange.

Buy one of these - your cat will love it!

(Loads of fun, but not durable toys - they only last an hour or two of play before they stop working. They really need to work on the build quality.)

Different businesses have different ways of appealing to people. Some put high prices, and then put up "deep discount sales" and that snags some people. After all, you're here. Talking about it.

That said, I don't have a cat. I have a dog, and my dog likes some things others don't. I assume some cats are the same way.

Finally, a lot of things that are sold for pets, are actually sold to humans. Like dressing up your pet isn't for the pet's sake. Pet doesn't care. Humans do!

Ah, a dog owner.

Now I understand.

Humans naturally tend to think they are the center of the universe. Dogs, the subservient fools reinforce this belief with their inexplicable desire to please humans.

But, the dogs and humans are both wrong.

I am the center of the universe.
